Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album - 20-Nov-06 12:09 PM
This was, in my opinion, a fantastic album. It contained the breakneck speed "drill 'n' bass" that I love to hear from RDJ. As has been said in above comments, you either love it or hate it. In my opinion, before one decides that they hate it, they must first listen to it at least twice, as many things seem to pop out upon second listens. A fantastic listen overall.
UNKLE - 24-Nov-04 02:35 PM
A group that achieved super stardom as soon as the first production was released. With James Lavelle heading this group up, there is no hit or miss with U.N.K.L.E. . Every Production has a lot of thought put into it and they always seem to be good. When James Lavelle first hit the shelves, he became an instant hit. However, he felt that this instant fame and fortune was not his character, and has tried to keep his gigs low profile (ie Bars and small clubs). This goes to show that U.N.K.L.E. is NOT in it for the money, so must be in it for the music. Any artist thats into production for the music is bound to incorporate a lot of feeling into their music, and U.N.K.L.E. is no exception. High quality thoughtful music that is produced for the music.
BC* - The Nine / Dogfight - 23-Nov-04 11:07 PM
The nine is a semi-simplistic Dnb song. However, it is one of the best Bad Company tracks I have heard to date, and it deserves "Hall Of Fame Status". I say this because its dark partly-progressive sounding beat is matched perfectly to the ambient and synth noises. The Dogfight is, as Njorda said, a massively underrated tune which deserves more respect. Props to BC for releasing the Nine, a tune which can bang in the club no matter whos spinning, or what the genre is, and a tune you can listen to at home.
Deep Dish - Global Underground 021: Moscow - 23-Nov-04 11:07 PM
Not unlike other GU or Deep Dish releases, this set has the deep classic soulful house one would come to expect from two of the most influential Djs in history. Varying from deep, almost dark-acid house, to uplifting classic house, this set is GU for anyone. Sporting tracks from hot prospects and artists such as Chab, and Dino Lenny, this set definitely has the variety todays house listeners are expecting. Definitely something to pick up if you have a pair of speakers and a working cd player--Its that good.
J Majik - FabricLive. 13 - 20-Oct-04 03:51 PM
Some much deserved credit should go to J magik for his fabrik live mix. A drumnbass mix that isnt chunky, has a definitive clear mix..This mix is composed of generally soulful drumnbass, uplifting rather than dark drumnbass. Its a set that makes people want to move. I recommend any drumnbass appreciator to pick up this cd, or download the set at least.
