Dan Electro - Got Soul - 02-Nov-08 02:07 AM
Whilst 3 of the 4 tracks on this EP are good, the knock-out punch here is Franck Roger's remix of "I've Got That Feeling". I first heard this around 2 years before it was originally released, on a mix put together by Dave Lee/Joey Negro, who undoubtedly scored a promo copy from Franck directly. On the back of that mix, I fell in love with this track - deep, soulful but with a kick that gives it that HEAVY punch needed to rock a dancefloor. One of the best things the French producer has been involved in for some years, and probably actually came at a time when he was really flowing (2006). Absolute KILLER!

Rodney Franklin - You'll Never Know - 30-Sep-08 01:27 AM
Rodney Franklin was at the top of his game for this 1980 LP. Alongside the dancefloor favourite "The Groove", the track that all heads need is "Felix Leo" - a sublime string-led instrumental killer, with arrangements by Paul Buckmaster. Moody, deep, uplifting, emotive - all in equal parts. This is the track you need, and worth whatever you pay for this LP. A must have for every music lover. Brilliant!

Roberta Flack - Don't Make Me Wait Too Long - 10-Jun-08 04:02 PM
One of the great underrated disco records of the time. A track that never really had any commercial success (mainly as it only came out on a UK-only 12"), but has become a massive underground disco tune over the years. Big with the Body & Soul crowd from NYC, and definitely big with those who know. The magical songwriting of Stevie Wonder accompanying Roberta's lovely vocals are what make it truly special. A masterpiece!

Dazzle - Dazzle - 09-May-08 12:26 PM
Possibly the best disco LP of all time. A magical 6-track composition from the collective minds of Stan Lucas and Leroy Burgess. Each of them is responsible for 3 tracks each. Arguably, Stan Lucas delivers the killers with You Dazzle Me!, Walk Before You Run and It's Not The Same, which are all brilliant. But Burgess delivers 3 underrated disco-boogie stormers with All, Reaching and Slipped Disco with that unmistakable Burgess magic. There is not a duff track on this LP - every track is great, it's just down to the listener to define them between "amazing" and "brilliant". The polished production makes it up there with some of the great disco LPs - Chic's Risque, Phreek's self-titled LP and Change's The Glow Of Love.

Franck Roger - Collection Of Moods Part 2 - 29-Sep-06 06:36 AM
"Bone Of My Bone" is just one of the finest house tunes of 2006 - no question! Franck Roger has had a fantastic year, and it started with this. Deep, funky with a bubbling bassline which penetrates deep inside your mind. As strong as anything coming from US, if not stronger, Franck is most definitely the hot ticket.
