Apparat - Berlin, Montreal, Tel Aviv (Selected Live Recordings) - 14-Feb-07 03:05 PM
'Berlin' is Apparat's masterpiece: a perfect blend of fast-paced techno and trance that builds into a barrage of gorgeous, sonic waves. 'Montreal' saw play from the likes of James Holden but, along with 'Tel Aviv', are nothing really new from Sascha.

Kaito - Color Of Feels - 11-Feb-07 02:20 AM
'Color Of Feels' is a smooth builder that sounds more like a live orchestra piece than a machine-created production. High pitched strings and guitar samples overlay a simple two-note bassline as Kaito continually increases background atmosphere. This is a beautiful work. 'As Time Goes On' is a nice jazzy track that is also worth mentioning.

Holden* - The Idiots Are Winning - 08-Feb-07 11:09 PM
I love it that people hate this album. It tells me that Holden is never going release something that has already been done before. That being said, this album is outstanding as expected. '10101', 'Corduroy', 'Idiot' and 'Lump' are all genius pieces of electronic sound, and really the only tracks that this album should be judged by. '10101' reminds me of a dark street in the early morning hours, splashed with a sudden downpour--a lone street lamp forming halos in the murk. Think 'Blade Runner'.

Petter* - Six Songs EP - 08-Feb-07 07:57 PM
One of the best releases from BC and Petter's best release to date. There is not a single blemish on this EP, with every track being quintessential Petter. The keyboard melody in 'Modern Eternity' is pretty enough to make you cry, and the electro bassline that emerges near the end of 'Left Turned' is so filthy you'll have to shower afterwards. 5/5.

Mainline - Narcotic / Innerspace - 08-Feb-07 12:56 AM
"Narcotic" is old-school Holden before the Border Community days of late. A pretty melody drifts over the top of some nice stabbing percussion (influenced by Hywel no doubt). The melody gets yanked half way through as the beat comes to a soft roll. Slowly the drums pick up speed until it's time for the swirling melody to emerge again. A classic masterpiece.
