I suppose this is the best album of the last decade of the last century.
The strong krautrock influences give the experimental/industrial backround of the protagonists an immense drive which could hardly be described. The lyrics in an artificial language, the clustered melodies, the hardrock guitar and drumset and the overwhelming existence of essential drones make a never heard before mixture of classic psychedlic rock and postmodern deconstructed music. It is a timeless conceptional album and sets its own mark. No alternative is seen until now....
This K7 is a good example for the extreme high quality of the 80's cassette-culture-scene.
Beside the usual noise- and experimental-projects there were also great new-wave-bands like The Misz.
Their very catchy sound is comparable to early Virgin Prunes with some more pop-appeal; fine harmonies and male/female singer made this band to remarkable milestone in european new-wave, although they unfortunately never reached a bigger audience.
And "Eddy Merckz" is in my eyes their best work; politics and music found together.
This stunning album is a direct reference to the best Zoviet France works like "eostre", "norsch" and all the other great mind-vacations of this supernatural collective.
Just listen to the "shouting at the ground" and see the line to this CD. Murmurring voices meet growling walls of sound in this deep spiritual ZF sense.
Definitely a must for the aesthetic community and for alle people who want to get an entry to the fantastic world of these outstanding musicians.

First of all: This is the best postpunk-record ever!
In 1986 when I listened to this LP the first time, I was a freaky adolescent who wants to destroy the world with pure noise.
After this pure-genius-output, this infamous conceptional work, energetic music was more than noise, was more than speed, loudness or whatever.

Jim is a great singer, a great multi-instrumental artist, a great composer, that's for sure.
But on this record he arranged his very special sound on a metaphysical level.
The main theme, which is included in every single track, is the microcosmos, the record in a whole is the universe.
That's the sonic side of real buddhism.
