2005 Stars Group - Spatial Disco 2005 - 27-Jun-08 01:35 PM
Very peculiar compilation repackaging some excellent Bernard Fevre and Eddie Warner electronic library tracks (Eddie Warner's "Drug" sounding more like an excerpt from an Amon Duul I freakout than anything resembling disco!)

The 'space disco' theme extends to some extremely dubious Top-Of-The-Pops LP style session band cover versions (Telstar, Space Odyssey, Star Wars and more...)

My guess is that this was a budget LP released to cash in on the popularity of Space, Meco and the like, the library tracks of Warner & Fevre pulled from the Illustrations Musicales & Musax libraries to pad out the gaps between the pop numbers.

Needless to say the Bernard Fevre tracks are as marvellous as you might expect: otherworldly cosmic electronica of the highest order. Eddie Warner's two tracks (including Luke Vibert favourite "Telex") offer an equally tripped out, more krautrock-inclined rhythmic pulse.
