Deadmau5 - Random Album Title - 14-Oct-08 10:57 PM
I know just uttering his name in certain circles insights a lynch mob of angry townsmen wielding pitch forks and torches, but Im going to put my head down and try and get a review out there.

First off, Ive never been much of a fan of Deadmau5. Yes, he had a few very catchy tunes that were hard to dislike, but after a while his productions seemed very formulated, contrived, and predictable. Not exactly what most DJ is looking to add to their record box.

Im a SUCKER though and I admit it. I wanted to give the silly rodent headed Canadian the benefit of the doubt, and I bought his album. It arrived to my door this past Friday and I sat and looked at it all weekend. Not listened. Only looked. The suspense was getting to me and I thought I was going to have something to list up on eBay.

So finally today (Tuesday) I had a bunch of errands to do, so I was going to be in the car for a while... I begrudgingly grabbed Random Album Title" off of my desk and went about my day.

To make a long story just a little shorter, I was VERY impressed with the quality of tunes on this disc. It wasnt one trite-in-your-face-paedophile-tune after another followed by a few lowest common denominator tech tunes for good measure.... it was something much more progressive. It has a nice flow to it... It grooves its way through the length of the album quite nicely. The tracks seem really well placed on the album and sequenced together in a clean, uncompleted manner. Im totally giving Deadmau5 a thumbs up on a job well done on this album... even though it pains me to do it.

So even if you arent a huge Deadmau5 fan, Id still say you should at least give it a listen. I love it when an album catches me by surprise, and This one did just that!

Dino Lenny - I Feel Stereo - 25-Sep-08 11:32 AM
This is the mix that was on Deep Dishs Moscow Global Underground with the full vocals. When it was released on Yoshitoshi pretty much all of the vocal samples from Chaka Khans "I Feel For You" were taken out. This is definitely the mix to have - It still gets a great crowd reaction so I still keep it in my record box. This mix is pretty hard to come by so make sure you pick it up if you run across it!
