Black Dog, The - Silenced - 02-Aug-06 09:44 AM
So good to hear The Black Dog back on form. Wonderful production, gets better on each listen. At a time when Plaid seem to be running out of ideas, it looks like Kens sound is standing the test of time much better than his former band colleagues. Well worth a listen.

I have to say, this is a very over-rated label. All the artists sound the same and use the same formula in their boring, clicky tracks. Very Gimicky (pardon the pun). Its another one of these labels that gets a big following mainly thanks to the fact that they do limited releases on coloured vinyl. Then suckers pay vast sums of money on ebay for these "rare" items, giving the illusion that the music must be great. Dont be fooled!!
Iyunx Productions - Syrup, Bones And Toast - 05-Jul-03 05:22 PM
Another ripe bunch of glimmering tunes from Yunx/Iyunx. Very emotional and innovative. lots of influences here... dub, detroit, early Warp. An essential wee CD to get hold of.
Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place - 05-Jul-03 05:16 PM
This is a bit of a let down after "Far Away Trains..". His debut album was never going to be bettered as its one of the finest releases in electronic music. But this time the tunes are totally over produced, its like hes trying to cram too many sounds in together - too much sugar in the mix. It just doesnt stir the same emotions that his earlier work does. But Ill continue to listen to "far Away Trains.." for many years to come.
Beaumont Hannant - Psi-Onyx - 01-May-03 06:47 AM
Good ambient/house. The Autechre remix is the standout track, worth owning this record for that alone!
