Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi

deceptive in its brilliance, and fabulously coated to suit the most attentive and serious of listeners. they do it everytime. this is perhaps an example of how b.o.c. will seperate themselves from the earth consistently without fail.

Autechre - EP7

geometric in shape and Debussy in color. beautiful melodies accompany ae's usual complicated beat structures. some might be discouraged by it's sometimes repetitive sequences but this is where the listener is challenged to be patient and to discover the inner beauty of the album. Pir is beyond comprehension. *teardrop
Autechre - LP5

contains deep and moving pieces of robot culture. LP5 contains more characteristic beauty of Rob Brown and Shawn Booth's machine-esque minds. these tracks develop and decay in such incredulous fashion. this album will keep you studying timelessly to discover the many hidden truths of the machine world. notable tracks include rae, fold4, wrap5, and caliper remote.

Autechre - Tri Repetae
Jan 20, 2004
Every album they produce is a classic in IDM culture. Tri Repetae++ is purely nothing less of a classic. In fact, this is quite possibly one of their best. Why is it considered to be their best? Because it exhibits a perfect equilibrium between complex and technically sound beats. You'll also hear well constructed and colorful melodies that accompany each beat pattern. It's all about balance and politically correct patterns that draw in so many listeners to this album. If you're looking for these qualities, this is your ticket to the fulcrum of the machine world.

Autechre - Amber

This by far one of my most beloved ambient works. Truly stellar melodies are scored here. Coming to mind are Montreal, Silverside, and Nil. Nil is considered by me to be one the most moving pieces Booth and Brown have constructed. Building deceptively and intelligently, the track flows like a raging river that is placid. Silverside is an emotional work that will leave your love bucket spilled on the floor. Lastly, Montreal is a classic 1-2 beat surface liner. Do not forget the structured works here as well. Slip is a fine example of this. Slip's beats are fantastic and bounce about in a wonderfully off beat manor. Somehow these guys can make such sense out of these scenario-esque off beats they put themselves into. Not mentioned above is Teartear. It is the arrival of the executioner. Be careful and don't let it take your life. This is a fine album for fans of the old and semi-new era of Autechre.
Autechre - Incunabula
Jan 20, 2004
Autechre's debut release is a thesis statement to their musicallity. Autechre's present delving intricaces are still representations of their earlier works, especially Incubunula. Unheard are these classic melodies such as "444" and "Maetl" but are nonetheless underneath the girated surfaces. There is much to be admired here. Bike's very human structured formula is probably the most clockworked piece you'll hear of Booth and Brown. As stated before, 444 and Maetl are two memorable tracks that come to mind that will have you entertained in harmonious nature. If you're looking for a demanding record, this is not your domain, otherwise start here if you are new to the machine maniacs that are Autechre.
