Aschera (2) / Zombie Flesh Eater* - Ichzerfall Jul 22, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
I LOVE this record. The song by Ashera is awesome, although it is not a style of music I listen to often, I am very fond of it. Then we have the "remix" by zFE. What can I say...This guy shreds this song into utter oblivion, pulling you into the world that is zombieflesheater's alone. No one comes close to touching this guy. This is utter destruction, total collapse. zFE's music is unmistakable; with in the first 3 seconds of a song there is no doubt in your mind that you are listening to his extreme artwork as he and he alone is capable.
ZFE* / Amboss - Split Jul 22, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This is one of my gems. This was very difficult for me to obtain, but well worth all of the trouble. This record is amazing, zFE shows once again that regardless if it's ragga or grind, he will utterly desteroy everything in his path. Here we get a chance to here zFE doing some amazing stuff with heavy guitar rifts. My only complaint is it's too short, however the 41 second despair III, appears on the Kapotte Radio 001 record a longer track, almost 3 minutes. As always this leaves me craving more of zombielfesheater's remarkable style, it's like an irritant to the senses, smashing in on you from every angle. This guy is incredible. The side by amboss is also grindcore, and is also great stuff.
Drumcorps - Rmx Or Die Jul 21, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This is the best grindcore I have ever heard. Aaron Spectre's arrangements here are perfection. I personally do not like metal, but I was always intrigued by the intensity that the guitars were able to achieve. Here is a record that allows me to see metal from a perspective of my own musical taste. I absolutely love this record; it is not overly destroyed or overly deconstructed. This is yet another reason why Aaron Spectre is getting so much attention lately.
Noize Punishment Jul 20, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Noize Punishment is producing the music I had wished for years existed. There is absolutely no one doing what he is doing. This is music with an aggressive vengeance. From the grinding punk guitar rifts, screaming vocals and political samples to broken mashed up breakcore drumming and snaring, this music has it all. This guy has become one of my absolute favorite artists of all time. This is very hardcore stuff. What he offers is to hear a lot of hardcore punk in a breakcore context. This may not sound like a completely new idea, but once you have heard his technique it will surpass any expectation you may have. This is complete noize destruction. I would recommend him for anyone into breakcore, but looking for something with a solid message and more aggression.
Duran Duran Duran Jul 14, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Duran Duran Duran is awesome. His website reads, "Gabber kick drum massacre." I think that just about says it. This guy is great at what he does, and he does it with amazing skill. Very hardcore stuff here. Definitely mosh material. The word gabber has come to be very ambiguous, you are not going to find a boring 4/4 here, his beats are complex and ever changing in his songs, this is gabba with a vengeance, with an aggression. His samples range from slayer guitar rifts to porn. Seeing Ed Flis live was amazing. Before my eyes this slightly reserved guy gets up on stage and turns into a madman. Banging his head for an hour straight to the sonic assault coming from his laptop. If you liked winnipeg is a frozen shithole, check him out.
Xanopticon - Psicicite Jul 13, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Amazingly Xanopticon has out done himself. This release is mind shattering. Although this an E.P. it is almost a half hour of some of the best music ever made. Deep, dark, it doesn't even sound like someone is making it, the music just sounds like it is happening on its own. Like some sort of quantized puzzle is coming together out of the depths of the unknown. There is a lot of stuff going on here, his attention to detail leaves no second empty in this masterpiece. It breathes, bends, and twists. Deeper and deeper and ever more complex layers of sound are used to achieve his unmistakable style. To me his music sounds like fractals, where each corner bends to infinity and back. If you ever get the chance to see him live, consider yourself lucky. Being able to watch him live is as mind blowing as the music itself. This release exceeded my expectations, a must have.
Raxyor Jul 12, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
rAXYor produces some of the best and most original breakcore I have ever heard. I have never herd anyone produce the complex beats and drum patterns that he uses. It simply blows my mind that this artist is not as recognized as he deserves. He is a musical mastermind. You can download "scourging inundation" for free, which has to be one of the best works of all time. Besides his splatter shredded complex drums and snaring, the samples he uses are of a more dark and serious nature. I am tired of all of the foolish and silly samples that produces are using lately, his works are deep, serious, aggressive and unimaginably complex. His arrangements seem to build to a place I simply cannot describe. He has redefined and transcended the mere "breakcore" genre. His style is unmistakable, he is not simply another artist, and he stands out as one of the masters of experimentation. This guy is going to be one of the biggest names very soon. Check him out NOW.
Zombieflesheater Jul 09, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
zFE is without a doubt one of my favorite artists, his style has been total ragga destruction to the maximum, on his new 7" with amboss however he does the same with grindcore. I am a fan of noisy breakcore, and you get plenty of that here, it reminds me of some sort of decaying undead zombie vodoo priest quantized jungle insanity, very harcore stuff here.
