Winstons, The Sep 04, 2008
Without the influence of the "Amen Break" from the Song The Amen Brother by the Winstons, modern electronic music just wouldn't be the same.
There is hardly and Drum and Bass / New Jazz / Downbeat / Breakcore / French Hardcore track without at least a bit of influence of the often resliced "Amen Break".

The "Amen Break" revolutionized a big spectrum of the electronic music scene we nowadays and in the 90ties knew.

The Winstons also never engaged in any legal action against the use of this highly remarkable drum solo.
Seems that the labels on the vinyls got wrong (maybe on purpose?). Tracks are often on the other side and on the inner side of the record instead (as written on the label) on the outside. That usually does not happen with deathchant releases, which are all quite in a good condition, well mastered and right labeled (the mastering is fine btw.). Maybe a mistake during the pressing or hellfish's humor. Anyway, all tracks seem to be fine as with the original pressings.
This tune (and of also the B-Side of the record) is by far one of the best Acid-Techno tunes ever made, and absolutely the best tune ever released on Smitten. A must have for every fan and/or collector of UK Acid-Techno stuff, and as noted in the comment above, people will go crazy about this tune every time on every party that genre fits into! The B-Side is a bit less spectacular, but offers also a very very sophisticated acid bass line and fits perfectly in every acid set.
