As with most Chaos Unlimited cassettes, each side of this release is a distinct mix (i.e., no splitting of tracks between side A and B). The A side mix is OK, some good solid tracks in there (Synaesthesia, Tempest, Astral Pancakes, Dans Ta Figure), but the others are pretty average and the DAT recording is a little dodgy in places.
What makes this an awesome release is the B side mix. The presence of a full length, unadulterated version of Intense Visitation would be reason enough to seek it out in my opinion, but it doesn't stop there. The subsequent tracks from Cosmosis, Infinity Project, Psychaos, and Rhythmystec are classics through and through...and then we are back to Etnica again with Tribute....mindblowing stuff! The final track on the B side mix is a slightly slower paced track by Encens. At first glance this may not seem to fit, but Mark really makes it work. Altogether, this is 45 minutes of absolute masterful goa trance from one of the best goa DJs of the 90s....only downside is that it never made it onto CD!
Jam & Spoon - Stella (The Moby Remixes) - 07-Jul-06 12:14 AM
The silver side label says that the tracks should be played at 45rpm. However, play the black side "Barracuda Mix" at 33rpm and you get a beautiful, mellow, blissed-out track with dreamy vocals that sounds much more akin the Stella I remember from back in the day.

Loved this track back in the late 80s. Bizarre to see Clint Eastwood in 'High Plains Drifter' several years later and hear some midget say "what did you say your name is?".....to which Clint replies..."I didn't". Further watching revealed that the film also includes practically every other sample from the record. Wonder if Clint knows!
N.Y. House'n Authority - Apt. EP - 01-May-06 05:49 AM
I honestly had no idea that anyone else had this record. This was my introduction to acid house (the track with the porno clips was a revelation)......it also never fails to make me smile as it brings back the mildly embarrassing, but quite funny, memory of me as a slightly geeky 14 year old buying this from Black Market Records in Soho, whilst all these cool acid-house types hung around. A few years later, I realised why they were all smiling at me and had those 'faraway eyes' ;)
