Q-Chastic - Q-Chastic - 17-Sep-08 03:50 AM
Hey, all you current 53 members who claim to have a copy of this release: Why not grab a digicam, make some neat pics and finally produce EVIDENCE that this record exists after all? :)

As for the most popular mp3 "bootleg", that has been floating around the net for almost six years: it's bogus (of course!), but let me elaborate a bit on that matter.
There are four untitled mp3s with the following playtimes: "A1" - 8:07 / "B1" - 9:06 / "C1" - 4:03 / "C2" 10:11. Track "C1" has been directly ripped from the "The Philosophy Of Sound And Machine" CD (Applied Rhythmic Technology, 1992). It's the only track released under the moniker Q-Chastic and it has been confirmed several times, that this track is NOT included on the mysterious Q-Chastic EP.
But what about the other tracks? Anyone who heard it surely has noticed that these Drum'n'Bass tracks sound way ahead of its time - and that's just because they are! They have been ripped from the Compilation "Food For Thoughts" (Shoebox, 1997), in particular: "A1" = John B 'Translucogene' / "B1" = Riddler 'Thoughts' / "C2" = SDR 'The Chimes'.

The fake bootleg was compiled just for fun, first time released into the Audiogalaxy network (around 2001/2, when it was still a filesharing platform) just to see how many people would fall for the (obvious!) fake. Many people did (and still do), the fake even made it into wikipedia until a wise editor deleted the bogus information.

How do I know? I know the person who did it (although I don't condone these actions, hehe), who - like me - never would have believed that this thing is floating around still today. I mean, come on: Look at the different production quality, the different sound, the different style - everything's different, and how anyone seriously could think of this being the real deal is a mystery to me.

Marilyn Manson - White Trash Volume Three: Mr. Manson's Home Demos - 06-Jan-08 05:07 PM
This bootleg itself has been bootlegged various times and was also released as "Mr. Manson's Home Demos". As in most cases of Marilyn Manson bootlegs it contains an awful lot of errors (most of the songs have the wrong title). The songs are taken from the very early demos of Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids (ie. "The Beaver Meat Cleaver Beat", 1990).
Would be interesting for die-hard Manson fans, but due to the errors and the shitty production this bootleg isn't worth the material it is made of.

Marilyn Manson - Lest We Forget - The Best Of - 04-Jan-08 04:26 AM
This is the most comprehensive "Lest We Forget", featuring more songs than any other version of this release, making it a gem in every fan's personal collection.

Still, two blemishes are to be noticed: As mentioned in the release notes, the (s)AINT video has been edited (also Manson's dick has been blurred out in the jerk-off scenes, in case you wanted to see it). As in all other versions also here the video for "Tainted Love" is missing, which I believe is due to legal issues.

Of course, the choice of Manson's Best can always be discussed from gazillion perspectives, but when it comes to a beautiful wrapped collection of his audio-visual art, "Lest We Forget" is definitely a must-buy.

Diabolical Masquerade - Death's Design: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - 08-Feb-07 03:01 AM
One of the best soundtracks ever created - if not THE best (metal) soundtrack ever! Actually the "rumors" mentioned in the release notes are true. Do you know the movie series "Final Destination"? Well, the similarities between the scripts for the first part of it and "Death's Design" (West Hill Corp.) lead to a massive delay in the production, and finally the whole project was cancelled.
Too bad... because I personally think that the Final Destination movies suck big time. Instead I'd have loved to see a movie featuring an astounding (metal) soundtrack like this!
