Profile: Without using all millions of terms and genres to describe my taste in music I can only say that my absolute favourite kind of music is 'hypnotic' music. It can be 'hypnotic' trance, 'hypnotic' deep house, 'hypnotic' ambient, 'hypnotic' rock etc.etc... Just look at my collection to see what kind of music I'm into. I'm trying to have my discogs-collection as updated as possible, but as you all know it's pretty hard..
Far from everything is in original, just that you know. Even though I always prefer buying cd's, there are thousands and thousands of albums that would be unreachable for me if I didn't downloaded or traded them..
Don't be afraid to contact me if you want to..=)

Kyla - Take Me Down (Disc 1) - 03-Sep-07 04:45 AM
Gill Norris original is a phenomenal track, a true work of art. The atmosphere he creates with this song is comparable to James Holdens music at that time, but this is actually better. There are so many fantastic details, and combined with the wonderful melody and the fantastic vocals you have one of the best modern progressive house-tunes ever!
Questia - Crystal Clouds - 03-Sep-07 04:45 AM
Both Crystal Clouds and Evolving Moods are kind of unique in the melodic trance scene. Both tunes are typical Ibiza/Summer-trance tunes, but with one big difference. These tunes are actually good. They are extremely well-produced with lots of interesting details, and the melodies are pretty innovative for being regular melodic trance. Absolutely adoreable melodic trance that is hard to not like...
Marillion and Positive Light, The - Tales From The Engine Room - 09-Jul-07 08:56 AM
Beautiful album that havent got the attention it deserves. Marc Mitchell and his manager at the time Mark Daghorn spent a year remixing some tunes from progressive rock band Marillions album "This strange engine". The hard work resulted in a very unique sounding album with hints from both trancy progressive house, intelligent progressive rock and deep, melodic downtempo. Very diverse styles, yes, but somehow Mitchell managed to put the listener on a "journey" through the whole album.
The vocal opener "Estonia" is one of the most emotional songs, all categories, Ive ever heard. Its an eleven minute long progressive rock ballad with synthesizers that gives me shivers everytime I listen to it. "The memory of water" is a typical Marc Mitchell-song at the time; a long, majestic, melodic, intelligent and powerful progressive house tune. A true classic! "This strange engine" is almost 21 minutes long and has a lot of phases in a progressive rock kind of way. Its a magic journey through beautiful ambient soundscapes, deep and vocal dub and finally a dramativ rock climaxe where Marillions singer Steve Hogarth is shouting in the most touching and beautiful way. "One fine day" combines chilled, sophisticated rock with triphop/downtempo beats. Its a very dreamy and atmospheric song that really hypnotizes you. Lovely! "The final track, "Face 1004", is also an extemely beautiful and powerful trancy house/housy trance tune that really blew my mind the first time I heard it. Oh, I could kill to hear this song where it really belongs: IN THE CLUB!
This albums isnt actually hard to get at all. Marillion is one the biggest bands in their genre, so it is definately possible to get a fresh copy of this album. Every open minded EDM-lover should hear this album. Its a great way to get introduced to not Marillion and, of course, the mastermind of Marc Mitchell. Mitchell is definately up there together with Aphex Twin, Simon Posford, Pete Namlook and all the other big boys of Electronica!
Various - Trojan Ganja Reggae Box Set - 24-May-07 11:22 AM
Pretty controversial theme on this compilation, and thats why I love it so much. Every track is a tribute to a crazy, smelly and funny little plant called cannabis/ganja or whatever you want to call it. Perfect album for warm and chilled summer nights with your friends.
Ulf Söderberg - Tidvatten - 21-May-07 03:05 PM
Perhaps one of the best kept secrets in the etno-ambient world. With "Tidvatten" Ulf Söderberg takes you on a hypnotic and highly spiritual journey to the deep forests of northern Sweden. The music is not very abstract and captures the listener from start to finish. The melodies are always well thought out, and always extremely beautiful in an mystic and ethereal way. If someone who havent heard quality ambient before wants to hear some quality ambient, the I would probably let him/her listen to "Tidvatten", thanks to its direct, melodic style and the thanks to the length of the tracks and the album. "Tidvatten" is the perfect soundtrack for a night out in the nature.
