Harmonic 313 - EP1. - 12-Dec-08 12:37 PM
He's a bit of a legend this chap so after having 3 people in a week coming up and asking what that slow stalking, hugely atmospheric cyberdubstep track on S2 of EP1 I was playing ,I became convinced for about a week nowt else mattered. 'Call to Arms' kind of takes the "dubstep" genre into mogadon funk territory but is so cerebrally massaging, it breathes like a living being. The rest of this EP veers around the realms of hypnotic, pulsing & organic Flying Lotus style territory and therefore oozes utter class. Much love to Mr. Pritchard

Oppenheimer Analysis - Oppenheimer Analysis - 20-Feb-08 02:12 PM
Fucking hell. Only just caught The Devil's Dancers on the Clone Cuts comp but my god...This is by far the best song The Human League NEVER wrote. Just the most moving, addictive minimal electro disco tune i've ever heard. A gently burbling Euro synth & a soulful vocal over the freshest minimal beats. Possibly the finest example of lost archive 80s pop i've ever heard! Get that utterly timeless track if you can. It might just change yr life! Even if it means selling your family on e-bay!!!! Love it!

Mick Wills - Atomic EP - 26-Dec-07 08:03 AM
I've only really indulged myself in the track 'Atomic Brain' from this eclectic & wanton EP. It just sends you off in a dirty chicago dumptruck, twitching into the stars! A spiral vortex of itchy technoid euphoria that makes your spine buzz & your head glow. Very dark & addictive gear! I can't reference any specific influences here but this tune is a solid floor burner every time i play it. If you dig haunting, grinding, creaking techno with soul then you'd be a fool to pass this tune up!

V/Vm - HelpAphexTwin/1.0 - 26-Nov-07 08:58 AM
Apparently Richard D James was rather amused by this & has a lot of respect for James Kirby AKA V/VM (let's face it, he's DJ'd with Whitehouse records in his time, has RDJ), otherwise he may have taken umbrage (& legal action) at his music being bastardised in this way. As any true Aphex fan knows, he likes to extract the urine on occasion himself! I've also got a great deal of time for cynical noise terrorists who deconstruct the po-faced myth that electronica is sacred!

Eight Frozen Modules / Mochipet - $ Vol. 11 - 13-Jul-07 05:19 PM
The 8 Frozen Modules track on here is unbelievable. It's an insane remix of 'Don't Mug Yourself' by The Streets. The collasing, wonky vibe just totally rips the roof off your head I love it's jerky, spasmodic glitch-dub electro ragga-isms. The best digital de-construction of a chart tune i've heard bar that infamous Craig David/Cylob 'Rewind' cut & shut. It still sounds incredibly fresh years later. The flip by Mochipet is very abstract but still appealing to the folks who dug the more splintered moments from the Planet Mu Allstars series. Splendid.
