I agree with what baj said - not only a dance classic but an MTV classic, too - the video for this was mostly done in cartoon format with some 'real world' clips of the ABC members... sort of like a-ha's "Take On Me" but without the plot or heavy integration of cartoon and real world scenes. It was sort of a mockery or a send-up of big ---- zillion dollar ---- budget records and the videos that went with them. Seemed like a novelty then but now looking back its actually quite a little social commentary they made when we weren't looking! :)

I know Matt Darey's and Marcella Woods' big hit together was "Beautiful" but I think "U Shine On" in its original mix is so much more evolved than "Beautiful". It is more melodic, has many more levels to it as far as instruments go, and the message doesn't seem as 'trite' as it does on "Beautiful".

Don't get me wrong. I like "Beautiful," but this one is... well... more beautiful.
