Klaxons - Gravity's Rainbow - 03-Aug-06 11:16 AM
Klaxons are sucessfully blurring the boundries between rock and electro dance with their unique and highly energetic brand of Indie Rave. The front cover of this 12 reads like a whos who on the Ones To Watch list with remixes by top Nottingham UK based duo Nightmoves and the Australian band/production group Van She. The Nightmoves mix retains the melody of the original, adding a club friendly vibe, whilst Van She go for a complete and powerful makeover in what can only be described as a Daft Punk style with robot vocals and dirty pounding French synths - Thomas and Guy-Manuel will be jealous.
Add to this the original version and its not hard to see why there is so much hype surrounding a band that at present only have a handful of tracks in the public domain - superb release.
Para One - Dudun-Dun (Remixes) - 19-Jul-06 07:58 AM
Once again Alexander Ridha aka Boys Noize provides the pick of the crop, turning in a remix packing more power than a 747 during takeoff - if you like the original then this will blow you away. In a time when mainstream house seems to be turning more formulaic by the day, the electro movement goes from strength to strength. Rock/dance crossover duo MSTRKRFT provide a healthy alternative - an essential purchase.
