Playin' 4 The City - First EP - 21-Mar-08 08:59 PM
This is the first release from the ever popular deep house guru from France. Olivier quite simply IS the soul of French DEEP HOUSE, the REAL french deep house, this record came out in 1996 and was on a compilation by a US deep house dj by the name of dylan drazen from NYC. The mix was called UNDERCOVER and this was one of my favourite deep moments on the mix for sure. Olivier has progressed to be one of my favourite artists, I say progressed? but i mean, if you listen to this record, how can i even use the word progressed? he already posessed some unearthly ability to capture the Essence of SOUL music. his playing is undoubtedly sought after by other house producers. He also helped to launch franck rogers career, in fact i bet Olivier was one of the biggest influences on FRanck Roger. One of the supporting members of the DEEP HOUSE Genre.. and a true legend. OLIVIER PORTAL! This record is treasured by me. I found it after 6-7 years of searching.

'Little' Louie Vega* - Strictly Rhythm Mix - 20-Mar-08 11:04 PM
To be quite honest, it was this CD that MADE Little Louie Vega into the household name that he is today... over his production, as the cd had large distribution. Send to me in North America, ironically enough from someone in JAPAN, It was one of my favourite mixes in 1994 and changed my tastes in music FOREVER. An Absolute timeless peice of house music history right here. If you've not heard it you'd do well to school yourself and find a copy.

Bob Sinclar - World, Hold On - 04-Mar-08 07:09 PM
A really catchy groovey little electro journey.. whose organ-like sounds give it the groove the same as the old MK hits did, but of course this ones suped up for 2006.. huge layered mega club version of a tune, My girlfriend heard this and couldnt stop moving, which is why its a hit, it will remind me of the times.. much the same as stardusts music sounds better with youw ill always bring u back to that year.. and the experiences you had!!

Truxton - Cosmos / Soul Missle - 12-Feb-08 09:47 PM
This record samples MISSION CONTROL - OUTTA LIMITS one of the most sought after promo tracks I can remember in House music... I remember hearing mission control for the first time ever in my walkman listening to a doc martin tape.. amazing tune, "radiate, 12, penetrate, to the bumpy rhythm" "let your heart beat, let your heart pump u, down a long red tunnel" the female + male spoken words were haunting... this is a tastefull remake with some new elements introduced in a 1999 french crazy disco style, but it doesnt go too far as to overdo it.. id play it today even in a set.... Underground!

Brif Records - 21-Nov-07 06:26 AM
Brif Records has to be one of the most underrated underground labels i know of.... always putting out quality experimental sounds... Ark used to be pepe braddocks partner untill they splitt up around 1997... Ark + Pepe both have this amazing ability to bring fidelity + highly inspiring imaginative works to the table! I really would love to sit down and hear everything this labels put out, the stuff Ive yet to be able to locate! ive always had a hard time finding the records... but you should definately perk up your eyes + ears if you happen upon a brif 12"... definately worth a listen!
