Dissecting Table - Metamorphosis - 11-Oct-09 06:25 PM
Metamorphosis represents something of a new direction for Noise's most eminent artist. Where Twelve Limbs of Dependent Origination consisted mostly of unvarying textures and was more purely ambient, the tracks of Metamorphosis exhibit development and exposition. Great walls of richly textured sound progress in phrases and movements. "Oracle" and "Flesh and Blood" sound like movements of a single piece and are clearly related and "Cosmogeny" comprises something of a Scherzo. "Pulverizer," the final track from cassette, is more in the vein of its predecessors, a single rich texture throughout. This release is only available from the composer and in response to confirmation before release.
Antable - Remix Of Deep Sea - 25-Aug-09 09:38 PM
I'm really glad to own a copy of this. Both the original and the remix are endlessly listenable. Antracot is one of the best artists in the power electronics field and of course Dissecting Table needs no introduction. Antracot does rich midrange textures that please the ear without exhausting it as so much other noise does. This is a superb release. Get a copy if you can find one. You will not be disappointed.
Dissecting Table - Post-Industrialism - 21-Mar-09 11:30 PM
First impression is that these are two tracks missing from the previous "Twelve Limbs of Dependent Organization." But they are released separately, with the same tracks on both clear acetate and a CDR, totalling under 21 minutes yet sold by the artist for a strangely high price. This is a perplexing release, both for the high price and for duplicating tracks in two media. Probably sold only directly to collectors, not many will get a chance to judge for themselves.
Psykosonik - Psykosonik - 11-Mar-09 12:02 AM
Don't know where to start with this one. It's too personal. When this was a new album I was forty years old and had my one year of being a hedonistic exhibitionist, going dancing four nights a week, loving to dance, loving this kind of music. "Psykosonik" was without question the soundtrack of my delayed year of adolescence. Nice crunchy beats, great tracks, great lyrics. Listening to "Silicon Jesus" now, fifteen years later, there is more than nostalgia here: this is a GREAT ALBUM!
Dissecting Table - Shinsei - 27-Aug-08 09:04 PM
Wow! Ichiro has done a lot of good releases but this is one of his very best. Huge, wide, roaring electronic textures. I've been listening to DT since the first CD releases and seen his style evolve, and this release is a perfect example of why he is so esteemed in the genre. This is not one of the rhythmic releases, this is heavy electronics in the finest sense. The artist's control over his materials is breathtaking .. most of the pieces are good and long, and five CDs of such unrelenting harshness will leave you pretty wrung out. Highly, highly recommended.
