Explosions In The Sky - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone - 17-Mar-07 02:49 PM
This album isnt a huge departure from what were used to hearing from Explosions In The Sky thus far, but it does have a more mature feel about it. Lengthy crescendos and tremolo plucked guitars drenched in reverb and delay echo throughout your mind, with melodies that soar higher than the clouds. This album takes you on a roller coaster ride- at times very quiet, then building into a fortified wall of exquisite noise. Sometimes it feels like the music is soaring past you at 100 miles per hour while your left standing still in the wake of the vibrations. Definitely a keeper for the post-rock/shoegaze/Indie fans.

This release is of utmost quality! Loving all the atmospheres and lo-fi beats. Excellent blend of provocative ambience and hazy beats to set a perfect mood for a chill session. If only more people could hear this stuff!

My my my, how far the amen break has come. This album contains what could be some of µ-Ziqs finest material in years. Amen breaks chopped to oblivion with his signature melancholy synths and phasey, distorted drum tracks make for a µ-nique listening experience. This album leaves me wondering what territory Paradinas could cover next, because he has progressed so much with his style over the years, and this album is a sure sign of that.

I have never owned an album that has invoked so much emotion. At times this album can be very sad, and solemn sounding, almost bringing me to tears with the tracks "Pequill" and "Pi-Knipple" but also very uptempo at times as well. "Vibe-a-Rolla" is some straight electro-funk-idm getting your brain primed for whats to come on this masterful blend of electronic sounds. As usual Mr. Fitton comes correct with very Bola-esque tracks such as "Chamchimzee" which sounds more like Bola on his original Bola 1 EP. A few of the other tracks like "Ephemex" or "Neph" probably could have even fit right in on Gnayse but theyre just too funky! Top Notch!

Only one way I can think of to describe this album - Mood Swings. Disc 1 starts off pretty chipper with some nice gritty beats and happy melodies on "Hectors House." By the time track 5 rolls around however, Im pretty ready to fall asleep. Just when Im nodding off to the dreary melodies of "The Wheel," Im reawakened by the harsh distorted beats of "Metal Thing #3," a track borderlining straight noise! Paradinas keep the energy with "Twangle Frent" a peppy track with all kinds of bells and whistles!
Disc 2 kicks off with some nicely layered melodies and percussive tracks on "Riostand." Unfortunately this was the highlight of Disc 2 for me. "Organic Tomato Yoghurt" is like some kind of abstract acid track that leads into a couple of dreamy ambient tracks. "Dance 2" pretty much sums up what that song is. The album ends with the heavenly string-plucking of "Ethereal Murmurings" which relaxes me into a deep sleep.
