Rubbish CD, sounds like he put a drum beat through a granular synth for the first 15 mins or so, then we have backwards beats for another 5 then back to the granulated beats, whooooooooooooo!... must have taken him all of 5 minutes to bang together.
In my opinion this is a waste of ear time, good job "color strip" makes up for it.
You know that scene in The Shining when old jack is in the bar and its full with people and theres that weird music in the background and stuff, well thats what this sounds like. Its aaaaamazing, im going to listen to it now.
Dark, quirky, menacing, funky and wicked are some of the words you could use to describe this album, but the best thing to do is buy it, Mr Tobin is really in a class of his own.
This is a wicked Album, a must for beat heads, old school breaks and funk, good on the dance floor as well as in the living room......like most ninja stuff actually...hmmm. Knee Deep In the Beats is a big stand out for meeee.
To add a new dimension to this album, play any 2 tracks together (using Turntables or 2 winamps or something) and prepare yourself for amazing results.
