My first instrument was the guitar in 87 ish, I still play,I was into Thrash Metal, Electro / Hip Hop and Rock and a little Reggae from 1985.
I then got into the Rave scene in 1990, was blown away by the whole phenomenon / cultural movement especially the Djs and music. I still have a passion for golden era Hardcore Jungle amongst other genres.
First mixed on a mates Technics in late 1992, instantly felt a buzz from it, started collecting records in 1994 mostly Jungle Drum and Bass,then in early 1995 started playing live at the many free parties all over Wales, I helped out with a soundsystem from 1995 through till 1999 on the free party scene, as well as bookings for club nights across South Wales.
During the 1990s I was playing Jungle out live mainly, then around year 2000 started exploring and playing other genres out live, (mostly thru collecting vinyl) I've always been a vinyl junkie and educated myself with plenty of 1970 - 1984 Reggae and Dub, also Soul and Funk, which I have collected over the years.
In 1999 I started trying to produce my own tracks mainly Jungle, I did this on an Akai MPC 2000xl for a few years then swapped to computer based production in 2001, I have used the name Condition since around this era for my own productions, sticking with my name Paco as a DJ.
Did a few gig promotions back then also, some went well, some not so well!
2001 - 2007;
In early 03 worked in London and heard some Grime beats on Rinse fm, loved this and wanted to get hold of the vinyls but couldnt get hold of them at the time, so I started making slower grimey beats at home and progressed into the Dubstep genre that eventualy spawned from the 2 step Garage / Grime scene. Having been collecting Dubstep vinyl since 2004 I was early on the scene in my area and was pushing the sound, although it was a hard job back then, I can remember playing in Cardiffs well known Welsh club alongside Mala (Digital mystiks) and Pinch in early 2006 to an empty club, no one knew what it was outside London it seemed?!
So producing for the last few years whilst still buying all sorts of vinyl and doing lots of gigs having supported names including, Zion Train, Skream, Loxy, Digital Mystiks, Lomas, Pinch, DJ Juice (GSI) Powersteppers, DJ-Jez, Caspa, Toob, Cally, Sicknote, Richard Thair, Easygroove, The Bug, Logan D, Vinylgroover, Warrior Queen, Ben Pest & Fedka the Irritant (Pest). Doing regular gigs in South West Wales and some gigs in Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea. Also had my own gigs in a local bar which ran every other month ish for over 10 years, playing all sorts of quality vinyl.
2008 - Present;
During 2008 BBC Introducing contacted me through Myspace and hooked it up to play tracks of mine for 3 weeks running on the Radio 1 show, I was pretty stoked with that!!!
Dj Crises from Londons long running Rinse FM playing a number of my tracks regularly on his late night weekend show.
I was close to a 12" release on Studio Rockers, Tony Thorpes Dubstep label, but unfortunately it didnt materialize, was cool to chat to him a few times (long calls!) he knows the score!
2009 has been good for my DJ profile having been given a weekly show on www.nu-perceptionradio.com Sundays 6 till 8 PM GMT. Playing Oldskool Jungle Hardcore and D&B.
I was contacted by SlackHippy resulting in a mix of mine getting aired on Austrian radio station ORF/FM4 based in Vienna, I was augusts international guest mix
showcase on The Dogs Bollocks show hosted by SlackHippy and D.Kay.
Also NoClone radio L.A./ Hawai are currently promoting my Oldskool Jungle Hardcore mixes on there playlists which is cool!
A track of mine (Feel Good) has featured on BunZer0's Carbon Logic promotional mix for the "Grassroots of Dubstep" EP.
Feel Good has made it onto Carbon Logic's forthcoming CD and Digital release "Grassroots of Dubstep" LP.
This is my first release, hope to release more music in the near future. :)
I'm currently producing Jungle / Experimental and Dubstep / Experimental, And am loving it!!!

DJ Hostyle is a Hip Hop/Grime/Bassline DJ and producer based in South Wales, active since 1993 he has played many gigs all over South Wales, across England and also France, his influences are early Hip Hop, Nirvana, Condition (DJ Paco) and more recently UK Grime and Bassline Grime. Hostyle has many talents including second to none scratching skills, good production skills and a natural approach to live performances. having also played in a band in the early 1990's called Roachlung he knows his way around a guitar and can bang out many a classic grunge tune!! Not to mention a quality singing voice, an all rounder one might say!
