Really warm-sounding and well produced ambient techno, perfect for the end of a set. The tunes sound so modern that its difficult to believe most of them were produced over 10 years ago. 'Altitutde (Mayday remix)' is the pick of the bunch.
A really good album from a great label, especially when it is so cheap. The only gripe i had with it was the fact that all of the tunes have been cut down so they could fit more on the CD - some of them do tend to end rather abruptly. 'Lt Replay' by Feadz stands out as abit of a monster in particular.
First rumoured to be a for-fun collaberaton between Alter Ego, Tiefschwarz and Adam Beyer, the mystery of the Style Rockets label continues. All of the tunes are hugely well produced and have a definite Germainic Sound, with B1 standing out as abit of a techno stormer - A clue to who is responsible may be found in the sample of the womens voice used, it sounds like the same person who features in the latest Vitalic release 'My friend Dario'.
Along with 'Blood Angels' by John Starlight, Krekc is one of the most derranged techno 12's i have ever heard. An unhinged beat breaks down for almost 3 minutes before finally dropping into a devastating beast of a bassline, complete with slightly off-beat background clicking which threatens to drive you to mental illness and beyond. I'd give my left arm to hear this at Fabric.
In my opinion probably the best Fabric CD yet released (although with Adam Beyer and Ricardo Villalobos lined up to do the next few that may not be the case for much longer). Gorgeous tech house to start, increaseing nicely in pace until peaking with Sven Vath and Marco Corola, the Riddles remix by Tom Hades is also particularly good. This is followed by two tracks mixed so fast you barely notice them, mixing effortlessly with inspiration. A superb end to a hugely impressive mix | ||||
