Superb release from the Kaboogie lads that have been keeping the Dublin clubbing scene fresh with a high quality quota of gigs throughout the years. If they can apply the same pressure on the music side of things were in for a treat. On the basis of this first 12" its a great start particulary for the Irish scene which has only a few select labels like the excellent Alphabetset Records that release on wax.
Prince Kong kicks off in style with a relentess ragga jungle track that takes no prisoners, backed with a wicked vocal by Jah Balance. Ive known his output for sometime and is definitly one to watch out for in the coming months. This track should set any club alright with its intense breaks and Jah Balance telling the folks to RISE UP!
Lakkers track is pure evil incarnate, which harks back to the harshness of Aphex Twins Come To Daddy. When the screaming kicks in theres no where to hide between the frenetic beats and storming bass riffs, like machine gun fire going off in yer face.
16Hz track is one for the dubstep heads. Hefty bassweight backed up by some wicked chants, this has been firing up the clubs in Dublin for the last couple of months now.
Thatboytims track is a straight up electro tune with some fine miami booty bass lines floating over the track. Nice and dark too with a brooding vocal line taht reminds me a bit of Villalobos remix of Shackletons Blood on my hands".
