Profile: Im into just about anything electronic - Ambient, House, Drum & Bass, Downtempo, Hip Hop, Techno, Minimal, IDM, Nu Jazz. I dont like Hard House, radio friendly Pop House or Trance (basically anything hard or cheesy). Im also a bedroom DJ using mixing software MixMeister.

You can see the list of items which I have for sale below. It's mostly releases which I dont listen to anymore or listened to once and didnt like. The prices are negotiable so if you are interested in anything contact me and I might do a deal.

Check out some of my favourite sites:
Epitonic.com has lots of great free and legal mp3's to download in all types of electronic (and other) genres.
Beatport is a great site for purchasing high quality mp3's in many genres (D&B, house, techno, minimal etc.). They have a huge selection available.
Traxsource is another good site for buying mp3's. They don't have as big a selection (and they only do house) but there is the option to purchase cheaper 192kbps files. Their selection of tracks is improving all the time as they add new labels.
Kevinyost.com is the official website of one of my favourite house producers. It's run by Yost himself and has a biography, discography, media section and a lot more cool stuff.
Strictly Digital is an online record label run by Gavin Cheung (AKA Nookie) which specialises in atmospheric/funky drum & bass. They have some really good artists such as Greenfly, Laroque, Kymera, Champagne and Soul Purpose.
Beatmixing.com is a site where people who use DJ mixing software MixMeister can submit their mixes to various radio stations which are available on the mmRADIO network. I have had quite a few mixes on the BeatConscious & jack2it radio stations and there are a lot of other good DJ's there to check out. Anyone can listen to the shows. Styles range from trance, techno, house & DnB to downtempo, IDM, Synth-Pop, rock & hip hop.

Note 1: Any rock releases I've submitted I probably dont own anymore as I no longer listen to that type of music. I would most likely have thrown them out or given them away so dont bother asking for a copy of them or for me to sell them.

Note 2: Due to attachment size limits from my email provider I cannot send any mp3's or large files. If you are looking for an mp3 contact me and I might send it by post on CD or via Megaupload.

Note 3: Due to the fact that this site has gone downhill so much (since it became like Wikipidia) I am not bothered submitting too many more releases or posting comments (which have to be over a certain length even for reviewing one track singles). My email address will remain valid though so you can still contact me with any queries you have about items for sale or anything in my collection. NO spam please.

Funktastics, The - Private World EP - 02-Nov-09 12:38 PM
This is a great EP of funky Drum & Bass. Moanin is a groovy track with filtered disco samples and some smooth rhodes. Deepthroat starts with a filtered disco feel and horn and funk guitar samples before some soulful vocals kick in. A dirty spoken word sample appears during a breakdown before the vocals and horn section kick in again. The track then slows into a mellow laid back groove before speeding up to drum & bass tempo again. Crocodile Skin has a disco style slap bass and strings which work to great effect. Private World features lots of horns and funky guitars.

Overall this EP is very good but also very funky. Anyone not into those kinds of sounds should avoid it.

Steve Mac - Paddy's Revenge - 08-Sep-09 04:44 AM
This is, without doubt, one of the worst house tracks Ive heard in a long time. I know that house music can incorporate many other styles (Hip-Hop, Jazz, Latin etc.) and often times thats good as it keeps things interesting. This track however takes it too far by mixing house with traditional Irish music, sampling instruments such as an accordion and a fiddle. The result sounds incredibly cheesy. I cant imagine any respectable DJ playing this out in a club (although you never know I guess). The video is corny too, featuring a Leprechaun (of all things) dancing a jig. One to avoid at all costs.

Souldeep - Six And Four - 16-Mar-08 05:51 AM
The Johnny Fiasco remix is a great piece of jazzy house. It starts out deceptively with a banging beat before the mellow jazzy baseline and piano sounds kick in. The track alos features some scatty vocals and flute samples. If you like this you should check out the Johnny Fiascos Flame On! Remix of Souldeep Collectives Fire In My Soul (on the Integrity label) for another great slice of jazzy house. Johnny Fiasco is certainly on form at the moment with his remixes and original tracks.

Two Lone Swordsmen - Wrong Meeting II - 31-Aug-07 01:37 PM
Is it just me or does anyone else long for the Two Lone Swordsmen of old? Style wise Wrong Meeting II follows on from where their last album finished up, utilising real instruments and vocals on pretty much all of the tracks. For the most part it doesnt work as a lot of the time it ends up sounding like second rate electro rock (which there seems to be a lot of around lately). For me the best track is Shack 54, the only instrumental on the album, which has a good upbeat funky feel to it. By far the worst track is Hey Deborah Anne which sounds like a really bad novelty song. I definitely miss the wonderfully inventive electro sounds of past albums such as Stay Down and A Bag Of Blue Sparks. Now they just sound like their trying to jump on the Klaxons electro rock bandwagon.

Gavin Froome - Underground Heroes - 14-Aug-07 02:19 AM
Following 2001s great Post + Beam album I was expecting big things from this release. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. Gavin once again provides a mixture of downtempo and house tracks. The problem is that many of the house tracks are actually very repetitive and therefore quite boring. Get Up for example has a great funky feel to it with some nice horn stabs but hardly changes at all for the close to six minutes it lasts. Alpine Pools is also funky but again hardly changes throughout and at eight minutes long really feels drawn out. The downtempo tracks aren’t much better. All Night adds some vocal and guitar samples but just didn’t do it for me. After The Rain is a fairly average slow track with atmospherics, strings and a sax sample which ends up sounding quite uninspired. In fact a lot of the downtempo tracks feel like they were thrown in just to fill space in the album.

If you haven’t heard any Gavin Froome material I would highly recommend checking out both Post + Beam and Mobile Villager (his first album from 1999) as they are both fine examples of how good house albums can be. I would suggest avoiding Underground Heroes though as it conversely shows just how boring some instrumental house albums can be.
