Yogi & Husky - The Random Soul EP - 10-Oct-08 09:09 AM
Sweet soul funk with an edge and a wide variety of flavours to choose from for all the house 'eds out there. We kick things off with Salted's own Miguel Migs Petalpusher Rework of 'It Feels Alright'. Utilizing Yogi and Husky's original elements and giving it a new twist with Migs' trademark sound and style combining the best of live instrumentation with current electronic stylings. This one is custom designed for the dance floor with enough energy to rock the spot while maintaining a sweet R flavour with Yogi's vocals riding on top. Next up is Yogi and Husky's 'Salty House Mix', bringing a straight-up, soulful, uplifting energy, created with the slick sound of Salted in mind. Yogi's smooth harmonies and catchy vocal hook will have you singin' along. 'Let It Go' has more of a chopped-up, bumpin', electronic kind of vibe with cut-up vocal madness and a chunky-ass bassline ready for dance floor damage. Last but not least 'PJ Sessions' simply takes it back to a deep, soulful house sound with a bouncing b-line, catchy key lick and sweet sax riff.

Girth, The vs. Bosco & Terell - A Night At The Ice Palace - 10-Oct-08 07:29 AM
Another absolutely ace dancefloor outing from the Girth and Bosco Terell on the hot Blue Label bootie imprint. This two-tracker is slam-jammed with spicy funk and soul, with the A-side "Master Blaster" working a hot disco/jazz riff over tough dancefloor beats - smooth Rhodes warm things over before an amazing D-Train-styled male vocal kicks in for some pure euphoria. On the flip the all-time classic "Space Bass" from Slick gets a 2006 makeover with a jacked-up underground westcoast edge. Super crisp production on this one with some big WMC plays looming in the future!

Girth, The - Chained To The Bed EP - 10-Oct-08 07:28 AM
House fans of all shades have been feeling the Blue Label's bootleg-a-licious house take on hip-hop and disco classics. This fifth release is another slab of house magic, with three booty cuts that straight kill it on the dancefloor. The A-side main cut "Chained To The Bed" works a tight filtered jacking groove with some sweet and catchy female vocals a la Beyonce tying it all together. The two cuts on the flip are more on the jazzed out filtered loop tip, with both "Swinging It" and "Thank You" hitting a nice Inland Knights/Mark Farina disco grooved out tip.

Troydon - Learn To Love EP - 10-Oct-08 07:27 AM
A straight ahead house-funking EP with the main track sampling an infamous Mood II Swing bit from way back. Deep, jacking, underground bump and energetic builds make the lead track an absolute party rocker. Also featured is the filtered soundscape, funky bassline, guitar and horns of "How I Feel", a serious party jam. Chuck Love does a remix on "Learn to Love" that takes it a bit deeper and almost disco. Last but not least is "It's Alright", a little more abstract but still another house rocker with sound effects and percussion loops to drive the dancefloor

Oriental Funk Stew & Olivier Desmet - Simple Things EP - 10-Oct-08 07:14 AM
Oriental Funk Stew and Olivier Desmet join forces for this stellar EP of polished disco and funky house. The A1 sports a killer guitar and bass reminiscent of a classic Young and Company track from way back. A tasty selection of funky club tracks follow. Sound Republic send their remix over the top, turning it into a prime-time party track which is packed full of their usual surprises. There's a sample from the track "Heartache" by Delegation. A great disco for funky house headz.
