Slateman is the first I ever heard of Godflesh. It was on an Earache Records sampler cassette given away with the first issue of Thrash n' Burn magazine ( I think). To me this is the greatest track they have made, maybe I think that because its my introduction to Godflesh, but more so I think its the best example of what Godflesh are about to me at least. It may not be as flat out aggressive as a good percentage of their other material, but it makes up for it in sheer atmosphere.Heavy and despairing, beautiful and elevating. Wish I had a copy.
