Reviews & Discussion:

Stewart Copeland - The Equalizer Busy Equalizing Jan 12, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
This is NOT the original Theme Tune from the TV show, but a very disappointing re-work by William Orbit which, in my opinion, was a completely pointless excercise. The dark brooding synths at the beginning are replaced with lifeless string sounds, the harsh organ/synth flourishes are replaced with the most naff synth oboe/clarinet sound you've ever heard. Avoid.

As far as I know, the original version was never made available except for when broadcast on TV. Try searching YouTube for 'The Equalizer' to hear the 'proper' version. Tut tut.
Comtron - Follow The Money Jul 13, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
More fanstastic electrofunk from Comtron.
M.O.N.E.Y is definately the highlight for me, sharp and harsh beats puncture a highly syncopated bassline and ultra cheesy synth stabs, whilst a mechanised voice drones 'M, O, N, E, Y, please, don't, pass, me, by'. It's a smash.
Ivan Smagghe - Ivan Smagghe Presents Death Disco Apr 02, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
I bought this just for the re-edit of BWH - Stop. Which is an excellent slice of Italo-Cheese.
Unfortunately the vinyl version of this edit has a truncated beginning and has been sped-up so it fits onto the vinyl, how irritating.

The other tracks are very disappointing, nothing special on there in my opinion.
Dexter - I Don't Care Jan 10, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Oh Yes Indeed. 'I Don't Care' is a truly inspirational tune, cheeky syncopation all the way through, great flarpy bass sounds and some almost C64-esque bleepy stabs keep it interesing for it's entire 5.13 duration.
Quite hard to find on vinyl, only available now on the 'Men You'll Never See' compilation from Clone records.
The tune sounds like its been mangled through an Optimod or similar DSP device, this is what FM radio stations crunch everything through to make things sound extra-rich, like hot gravy pouring out of your speakers!
