Apollo Two - Volume 1 Feb 13, 2009
Atlantis (I Need You) needs no introduction. Very ahead of its time and a timeless classic that still smashes floors to this day and in my opinion was one of Bukem's finest tunes. This tune has a wonderful vibe throughout, uplifting female vocals ( i need you, i want you..) rolling snares and deep, rolling bass to make the hairs on your head stand to attention! Still highly collectable and has lost non of it's appeal. A must buy for anyone... wonderful track.
Die* - Clear Skyz May 09, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This track never leaves my box, big big tune of 98 and was caned by all the big boys at the time. 'Clear Skyz' is a nice jump up roller and works well in the mix. On the flip 'Reminisce' takes on a harder stlye using the amen to good effect. Good work and a solid release by Die.
Blame Oct 11, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
An absolute legend! My favorite period were his days at Moving Shadow where he produced tracks such as 'Music Takes You' and 'Feel The Energy'. Very versitile in almost anything he turned his hand to;his later work on Good Looking showed a very mature attitude with deep atmospherics and complex drum programming..wonderful! Although nowadays he produces more 'rinse out' productions they still maintain the ruffness of his latter work, albeit less interesting and involving.
DJ Taktix - The VIP (Final Chapter) Oct 05, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
One of the massive anthems of '94, total jump up pressure and 'one for the ladies!" With female vocals by Regina Belle (It's the way...)and ragga vocals dispersed throughout-this is a sure fire dance floor filler. Clever breaks are used..Taktix couldn't put a foot wrong with this release.
Remarc - R.I.P. (Remixes) Oct 05, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
One of the true classics of Sub base catalogue; Hype's remix smashes it everytime it's played! The first breakdown before the drop sets it up for complete devestation..deep rolling bass and chopped up amens makes this one of THE essential jungle classics! A must have in any collection!
Kay 9 - Crazy Bad Bwoy / Perfect Design Sep 22, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
'Crazy Bad Bwoy' was the second release on the now defunct label Section 5 (Moving Shadow's sister label) and boasted the incredible talents of Kay 9 aka the legendary Blame. This track begins with a ragga sample with tight rolling breaks and synthy stabs...then the subs kick in with devestating effectiveness (this levels any dance trust me!)
'Perfect Design' takes on a more uplifting and atmospheric feel and contains the vocal 'a perfect design the memories making its way through my mind'. Superbly arranged and executed..one for any box/collection.
