Underground Resistance - Inspiration / Transition - 01-Dec-05 03:42 AM
For those that don't recognize the image on the "Inspiration" side of the album, it is an image of Rosa Parks sitting on the bus in front of a white man. A HUGE moment in time, that basically solidified a Civil Rights movement across America. During the live shows, UR shows images of Rosa Parks, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., and such inspirational heroes during the live rendition of that song. Truly magical, this release was made as UR moved from the old 2030 building, to the new 3000 building...

Plan, The - Plan A - 21-Nov-05 05:40 AM
A submerge distributed release for a reason. This EP is astoundingly Detroit, and yet fresh and modern. The A side track is a dancefloor killer, building from repetitive high pitched noises into a wonderfully textured full-on stomper. The bassline is relentless in it's approach, and the production value is extremely high. It is also now featured on Richie Hawtin's newest "mix" DE9:Transitions.

Aztec Mystic, The - Aguila - 19-Nov-05 10:37 PM
Another Rolando release on UR, in the same Latin-style as Knights of the Jaguar and the Los Hermanos sublabel. The original track shines brightly, with the trademark strings and beat, but the remix might even add a bit more to this already fantastic track. A definite must-have for fans of Rolando or UR, but especially those fans of the Los Hermanos sound.

UR* - The Turning Point - 19-Nov-05 10:37 PM
Intergalactic Baptist Church is indeed a masterpiece, and dancefloors everywhere can feel the force behind that blow. It is a P-Funk styled Gospel-inspired raw emotion of soul to the dancer.

Scan-7* - Black Moon Rising - 19-Nov-05 10:37 PM
Four brilliant techno tracks! Black Moon Rising (the track itself) is stylistically brilliant, especially for 4x4 techno. The synth stabs and the way that they complement the acid lead, all while being pushed along thanks to a healthy bassline. It's the type of track that embodies techno. System Work is also a brilliant track with vocals that seem out of phase, but push the track along through its own quirky but driving melody. Trackmaster Lou really builds great tracks, and this is proof.
