Dexter Gordon - One Flight Up - 27-Nov-08 11:39 PM
I cant hardly believe that I am the first person writing a review for this amazing Blue Note album. Three killer tracks from Dexter Gordon, recorded on June 2nd 1964 by Jacques Lubin at CBS studios in Paris. Its hard to discribe this album, but what I can say is that it is just a master piece, with such a creativity, openness and invention. For me personally, the track Tanya is one of his best tracks, not just because of its duration (around 18 minutes), but also because the way they play, allowing space for each musician to express himself. A must have.

Trio Louis van Dijk - Loosdrecht Jazz Concours - 05-Nov-08 10:24 AM
This rare EP from Louis van Dijk was recorded when he was nineteen years old. It was his first recorded EP, which was made after he won the Loosdrecht Jazz Concours in 1961, in the category Modern Jazz. On this extraordinary EP he played three tracks with Cees Hamelink (21) and Harry ten Siethoff (24). Especially the way he played "Dear Old Stockholm" is just beautiful. Uptempo and a bit dirty and smooth at the same time. Usable and suitable for djs to play on the dancefloor. Put on your dancing shoes!

!!! - Hello? Is This Thing On? - 05-Apr-06 01:55 AM
These tracks are great! Why not play this in a house mix, why not play this in a disco-funk mix, both is possible! Chk Chk Chk rocks punk funk disco house with this release on Warp. Although, the vocals on A1, which is my favourite, are more punk! It makes people scream while playing on the right moment!

16BⓅ* - Trail Of Dreams - 28-Mar-06 04:58 AM
In my opinion, this release is Omids best one made so far. Its about how electronic dance music and funk -jazz should be combined together. The first track (Jazz Mix) is my favourite. Deep, but funky breakbeat with an easy overlay with additional sounds, including a smooth bassline, strings and a jazzy piano. Quality dance music! I strongly advise you to search for this release if youre a fan of Omid Nourizadeh, essential!

Tres Demented - Demented - 30-Dec-04 02:01 AM
Vocals in track A1 are sampled by Carl Craig from Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil. The voice is Mick Jagger. Play this Rolling Stones track on 45+ and listen to the Micks scream. Very well done Carl Craig!
