Like many people I have a very wide taste/love in/with music, but drum n bass is at centre of it, and always will be!!!
Started mixing DnB in '99/'00, but I've dabbled in house, techno and breaks.
Inspired by x2k since about '05, I've been getting into the DJing side of hip-hop...Scratching & Turntablism.
Imensely enjoying 4-deck, 2-DJ sessions!!

'06 has brought Dubstep into my life and its taking a fore-front at the moment!

Apart from the mixing and whats already been stated, i enjoy listening to allsorts - Dub/Reggae, Ragga, Dubstep, Downtempo/Trip Hop, Funk/Soul, Blues, Rock, Metal..etc.

Future Prophecies - Concrete Combat EP - 14-May-06 04:50 AM
Another Hot MSXEP release!
Corrupt Souls deliver 4 more awsome tracks.

Side X: With Concrete Combat there's no messing around, it starts with just small intro, hi-hat and eiree 'martix' sounding synths, which soon stops to make way for a solo bassline droning in such a way as to almost make me drool, an angry "Concrete Combat" sample on the drop, it kicks with amen sounding beats. Unfortunately there is only slight progression in the bassline and the drums but with the nice background sound that get used makes it one a phat tune none-the-less.

Side Y: Final Fantasy - "Control Your Mind...Control Your Fantasy" again a small intro with these samples and a "low bit-rate" sounding drum beat. The bassline in the intro again is perfect along with softened string samples. The tune kicks on a dark vibe, but has a lot of progression where the strings are added to soften the vibe immensly, I wasn't 100% sure on the old 'disco synth stabs' but they work well with the Female 'Ohhhh Yeeaeeahhh' sample, and is growing on me. The progression in the tune is really nice especially the string section.

Side XX: The Dawn - My favorite track on this release (i think, while i'm in this mood anyways) 'Trance n Bass' baby! It has the TnB bassline you'd expect, a nice piano riff, quite a bit of 'Back' Scratching, an awsome 'Ohhhh' female samples. I can see this tune bringing a tear to quite a few eyes with its sheer beauty.

Side YY: 417 - Is quite a different tune from all the above, the bassline's especially reminds me a lot of Future Prophecies earlier stuff. It has some progression in the tune, not enough by far though, I expected more at the second drop after the main break-down.

Paul Shaw & David Rogers (2) - Mr. Blobby - 09-May-06 05:22 AM
Argh this release terrible!!
With the 'Blobbyblobbyblobby' talk, fart samples, and the cheesyest-cheese smeared all over, it suprises me that it reached number 1 in the UK charts and stayed there for two weeks including being the Christmas No.1 of 1993.
What a sad nation we once were.

George McCrae - Rock Your Baby - 26-Mar-06 09:14 PM
This was George McCrae's first UK hit which reached No.1 in the chart and stayed there for 3 weeks during July and August 1974.

"Woman, take me in your arms, love me baby" is a well known lyric, this tune has been used on many movies and advertisments.

The B-Side (Pt.2) is more of an instrumental version.

Eminem - 13-Nov-05 02:00 PM
The two comments that precede me say it all about Eminem, just like Marmite, you like it or hate it.
Personally I admire his intellectually-funny lyrical flow, but what he raps about in some of his releases I just really don't like, he really could use his gift in better ways, rather than rapping about his ex-girlfriend, and his mother.
With that said; the main reason for this comment was to say that its Eminem's 'free-styling' and 'MC battles' that do it for me, he is truly in a league of his own, in my opinion.

Jade & Matt U - Salem / Nightmare - 09-Nov-05 12:18 PM
Hard edged beats and dark, heavy bass-lines straight outta Budapest. Both tracks share a the same drum-samples making them sound similar.
'Salem' has has more of that crowd-rocking quality to it with more of an uplifting synthy bass-line.
Whereas 'Nightmare' has a darker sound and a nice progression, unlike 'Salem'.
Two awesome tracks from the up-and-coming Hungarian Duo 'Jade & Matt U' a pair to keep your eye on!
