Living in NYC as a young person, I was introduced to underground music and DJ culture in 1984-1985 via the graf/suburban art and break dancing/hip hop scenes.

Evolved from there
into a college radio DJ ( 1989-1997 ) with an emphasis on early industrial, ebm, experimental and techno/electronic music as well as early post-punk, synth-pop, shoegaze and alternative music... I started to DJ underground parties and clubs in 1992 and still do presently.

I am involved in the independent promotion of a wide range of music and have been since 1992.

Some of the artist I am responsible for booking in various venues includes, and not limited to.

Somatic Responses
Fixmer/McCarthy
Black Lung
Gridlock
Fred Giannelli
Spiral Tribe ( the original U.K. collective )
Sciflyer
Astral
The Invisibles
The Holy Kiss
The Slow Signal Fade
Death Of A Party
Adam X
Timeblind
Kit Clayton.....and many, many more

I have made a substantial contribution to "the freetekno party" scene worldwide through music distribution,as contributing member of various collectives and as a promoter.

I was a long time employee of Satellite Records in NYC. I was also employed by Housewares, Braindrops and Zen City Records in San Francisco.

I started a label in 1999 called - Shadowcast Recordings - and released a lmtd. edition 12'' by Somatic Responses called Dark LSD E.P.

Plans for the future include continuing to organize and promote events, as well as act as a booking agent under The Shadowcast Organization banner, eventually spearheading an outdoor music festival focusing on a wide range of quality music.

Continuing the Shadowcast Recordings label concept, which is, releasing material by prolific electronic musicians from different periods of their creativity.

Launching the LoveLostFound Records label, which will have a focus on band oriented music in the experimental, disco punk, psychedelic and shoegaze genres.

I love the fact that my eclectic taste in music and approach allows me the opprotunity to DJ in a varitey of different situations, everywhere from divey artpunk/hipster bars to warehouse parties.goth/industrial/ebm clubs to experimental techno parties..art openings to outdoor free parties....... all very much worthwhile!

Krude / Dexorcist, The - First Shade Of Fear EP - 10-Aug-06 09:16 AM
At the time of this release there were not many titles available that retained this type of dark sounding, experimental and harder electro.

There were indications of things to come on, Urban Disturbance, Audio Illusion and, as well as on this release, which is quite good. Granted, the aesthetic and momentum of the tracks were produced with the "free party" soundsystem in mind, as few records from this era may be a viable , this record still holds up!

Programs well with alot of the more recent releases that come via The Dead Silence Syndicate and has definite unique qualities to keep things interesting.

Kill Memory Crash - When The Blood Turns Black - 09-Aug-06 05:08 AM
Great release by Kill Memory Crash...very industrial sounding electro and techno...."Inside The Box" is a very well produced track that has dynamic qualities that allow for mixing/interpetation that will devistate even the most discerning dancefloor. Robot Dystopia releases of late groove very nicely alongside this gem from Ghostly.

Various - Salvation! (Original Soundtrack) - 09-Aug-06 05:07 AM
The stand out tracks on this soundtrack are definitley those produced by Cabaret Voltaire!

"Twanky Party" is a dark, moody electro-synth pop number with subtle use of the infamous Roland TB-303 that works almost 20 years after it was produced.

The rest of the soundtrack is good-fair, the strength of the remainder being that which was produced by New Order.

Somatic Responses - Dark LSD EP - 02-Aug-06 06:27 AM
The concept behind this release was to release two tracks from the previous Dark Matter release by Somatic Responses of the same name, which at the time, and still today, was/is very difficult to find, due to the fact that it came out of Scotland on white label promo only, as well as to put out tracks that were reflective of the new style that Somatic Responses was producing, which IMHO is some of the most outstanding electronic music ever produced and they have kept it evolving ever since.

Initially, there were 500 pressed, most of which landed in France (Toolbox) and Germany (DigitalWorld) and distributed from those points worldwide, and soldout relativley fast.

An additional 300 were pressed, and this happened only because there was not proper communication between myself and the manufacturer, these additional 300 were mainly distributed by Syntax via DJ Nikadeemas and the remainder by Christoph Fringeli at Praxis.

As well, all the proceeds from the first pressing were used to support Somatic Responses on thier journey to the states from Wales, for a free party outside of New York in rural Pocono PA,( Core-Tex Labs,Gelstat and Capsule Corp. from France were also in the area to perform live performances, they came here from Europe because of the promise of a good party alone!) John SR did make it here too...and to this day it was THE VERY BEST FREE PARTY i have ever been involved with as well as attended here in the U.S. The live performance by J Somatic was outstanding!

The record was mastered a little on the low volume side and the pressing could have been a bit better...but all in all, its a great record....revealing the sonic mastery of Somatic Responses from different phases of thier careers.

Leyton Breakers, The - I Drink Your Blood - 28-Jul-06 07:26 AM
Dark and sinister 12 via The Deadsilence Syndicate of phuturistic electro breaks/drum-n-bass.....sounds great on a loud sound system. The standout track is A1 which samples from the 70s cult film " I Drink Your Blood" works well during transition from mid-tempo electro to harder and faster trax and/or peaking out your set. This record is going to find its way into my box and out the door with me for quite some time.
