Susanna Hoffs - 18-Sep-08 03:29 AM
This must be one of the most beautiful women ever in rock history. I used to check out all Bangles music video's and interviews to catch a glimp of Ms. Hoffs.
Besides her looks she's also a good musician and singer, really like her style and voice. After all these years she still sounds pretty much the same, very sexy :). Her solo stuff is maybe a bit less catchy than the Bangles music, but still very good and definately underrated!
Knightvision & D'Spyre - Apocalypse VIP - 09-Sep-08 09:21 AM
Ofcourse this is a special limted one-time pressing. And the Nosferatu remix is pretty cool, and so is the original track. But what makes this really special for me is the brilliant Apocalyptic Intro by Nosferatu.
It's as beautiful and emotional as it's dark and creepy. The atmosphere is just amazing and mindblowing. The way the short piano riff ends the intro... wow! Everything is so damn perfect. I wish all intro's were like this.
Fine piece of art if you ask me!!
Pink Floyd - Meddle - 20-Aug-08 03:14 AM
For me this is the ultimate Pink Floyd release. Especially because of the track Echoes which perfectly covers the change in the psychedelic style towards the "new" style they had with Dark Side. Everything just fits, the lyrics are brilliant, the guitar riffs are still revolutionary (the way they play the melody is just awesome). The break, where they create all these noises on their guitar and than the buildup to the second part where it goes all out. Super!
One Of These Days is a timeless track which still has so much power and energy in it. YOu could play it 35 years ago, you can play it nowadays and we will definately play it in 50 years.
Another track that catches my attention is San Tropez, the ultimate feelgood track. Always makes me feel like we're back in the 30's. Probably because the piano melody which sound a bit big band/ratpack-a-like.
The other tracks are all very good, even though I'm not fond of Seamus. But they are a bit typical for that time.
Herman Brood & His Wild Romance - Shpritsz - 19-Aug-08 01:42 PM
Brilliant release! Everytime that A1 track is played I want more Herman Bread. This entire album is just excellent!
When Saturday Night is played towards the ending you just hope they play Dope Sucks after it, especially when the play the album version (instead of the radio edit) because when Saturday Night fades out, Dope Sucks slowly fades in. The switch between these two tracks is perfect.
Ofcourse the record has more tracks which you have to check out, make sure to listen to R Junkie, Never Enough, Hit, Skid Row and Hot Talk, oh yeah, and ofcourse Champagne (& Wine). All are gems and absolute high class Dutch rock 'n roll.
Various - La Corsa Nostra - This Core Of Ours - 04-Sep-06 09:28 AM
This release completely sucks! Except for the track by Delta 9. People seem to skip this record after they heard the A1, A2 and B2. Which I can imagine very well. The track by Rob Gee can be one to laugh about. It's nothing serious and kind of funny too. But the tracks by Atroa and Sykopath are to cry about.
To be honest, at first I skipped this record too. But when I heard "Alucarda" by D9, I fell completely in love with it. What an amazing track! Everything fits, sounds perfect and it just rocks like hell! So if you skipped this one, make sure to check it again for the B1 track...'coz that's what it's all about!
