Reviews & Discussion:

This is what the true trance is about. This shows what the style is defined for. Excellent skills, and the belgian trance from the top of its peek (1995). This style is death, as it has been absorbed by commerciality. This is exactly the way phi phi spins on a monday @ Extreme! Superb oldschool trance cd!
Carl Cox Feb 18, 2003
Carl will stay an all time favourite in the european scene, not only for his skills as a dj, but certainly because the man is one of the most kind people to be around. Not absorbed by the succes he had, he will always be remembered.
Marco Bailey Feb 18, 2003
Bailey has so much diversity in his work. You can find hard techno releases, as absolute classic techhouse, popular dance tracks and floorfillers for lots of styles.
"Sniff" is one of the lowest points of his career, as it turned to be a total commercialising; but a track like "i love techno" will always stay on top of the stack! Also, bailey can play so many styles, that you need to see him playing at lots of different places if you really want to form a well based opinion.
Phi-Phi Feb 18, 2003
Definatly one of the lonely dj's who can play and produce the vanished old belgian trance style. Phi-Phi is a master in mixing and can make unbelievable storyboards. A unmatched trackselection, and an unique choice in records makes him the only one who can show trance haters where their opinion is wrong. Known allover Belgium for his "Phi-Phi monday's" at Extreme (affligem, brussels). Many Extreme-clubbers only went to the club on monday because of this high skilled artist.
DJ Fire Feb 18, 2003
Fire is very known in the belgian trance and hardtrance scene as being one of the greater producers. Not so much because of his own releases, but mostly because of his famous remixes and co-producing for Bonzai trance progressive and the lightning records labels. The past year, he has been a crucial artist for many new top releases by freebase, who thanks the top chartlisting to Fire's exclusive sight on the hardtrance style.
DHS Feb 18, 2003
An artist who got one of the most famous releases of the early '90s. "House of God" has been released in so many different countries over the last 12 years, that it is known to be an all time favourite for the oldschool dj's. Fabulous speech, often remembering the quality of green velvet's preacher man! Superb never-dying track.
D-Noizer - Overblast Feb 18, 2003
Overblast is one of the more popular releases from mid 2002 in the techhouse/techno scene in belgium. But considering my style of music, i prefer the deep acid-techno sounds of "control your body", a very useful track in the acid and techno bussiness.
fabulous mix of various styles on this ep! Side A1 is a very popular track (without bassline) that is often used by dj Ghost and Y. Deruyter in their acts. The track on side A2 is a great techno track that is used by lots of techno and acid dj's. Simple build up tracks with great effect on the public.
Manticore - Sweet FM Feb 18, 2003
side A (original mix) is a great techhouse/techno track ideal to start an act with. Features hard bassline with deep sounds in the background, and suddenly crashes into a radiotuning sound, to restart with a great bass hit. The side B is a softer version, basically progressive and more trancy. But, generally, this record can be used for many styles, including techhouse, techno, progressive trance and even acidtechno.
Emmanuel Top Feb 17, 2003
Top has released tunes like "binary society" and "acidity", who seem to be set up so simply, but aside can be unbelievably important for a techno dj. Sharp basslines and deep flashy sounds repeated over and over again are very common for Top's work. Very important in the European acid-scene!
