Mr bliss (matt) was the best dj in the city of toronto, province of ontario, and country of Canada.Big fan of many others but he was beyond all bak in 91,92,93, b4 the plastik days a true leg end. his and dreams tape folklore and legendary round our parts, leaving the scene for how he saw it admirable but sad as he will never be known for what he could and did do!
Ian Pooley - Celtic Cross EP Oct 14, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Everyone loved the Celtic Cross (Bangin' Bass Mix), but it is the motor city dub mix on the flip that will stand the test of time, an awesome subtle look at the sound of Techno in 1995!
Inner City - Let It Reign Sep 25, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Call it Hardcore if you want, but when it was released it actually was! Listen to this now and it is simply a masterpiece of Electronic music, Made in Detroit and mixed by the English masters of the breakbeat Altern8 then remixed by the Master, Reese himself, This is TECHNO!
Beloved, The - Crystal Wave Sep 21, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
O.K the first time I heard this cut was in 1996, I had just finished my set with Speedy J's 303, Mr Hawtin steps up in a space that holds 250 people, rammed with 500 and starts mixing in a hard pounding monster that blew us all away and left us wondering who the hell this was, my friends and I had the tape and couldn't find this track for close to a year. In 1997 I was in Dundee Scotland walking through a department store when I heard it being played on their P.A system, I rushed up to the commercial music desk and asked what the hell was being played. To my surprise the 50 year old lady picks up a cd and says the new Beloved album, my jaw dropped, I bought the album went to London and found the white label, I went back to Hamilton Canada and told the boys. Still cant believe it!
Signal (4) Dec 20, 2004 (edited over 4 years ago)
Signal was originally set up to release local artists without an output. It was never intended to be anything more and with only 4 releases 2 were actually very good releases these being #2 and #4, after number 4 the two guys behind the label went in different directions and the vision was defunkt.
Olex - Untitled Dec 19, 2004 (edited over 4 years ago)
This record was thrown together more as fun and a learning experiance at the birth of S.C.R with the borrowed 303 and 909 from the Stickmen the tracks were done after a couple of visits at Ollies studio in Hamilton the Double Double track was mixed live as can be witnessed by a wonky 303 that lost it at the end.
One of the first (house tracks)ever, very basic but very good, hard to find now but search and enjoy, this will show you how we started and where we have gone Genius? maybe....
Pure Detroit techno in the Saunderson mix for the time the production is incredible.... Beautiful.
Qube was an offshoot of Signal records Canada who only released one record correct cat# signal 04. All tracks by Huren aka Dave foster of teste (plus 8)/ Zhark fame.
