I am not selling any of my records, so please don't ask.
I will not rip/burn any CDs in my collection, so please don't ask.
I will, however, be willing to send you MP3s of certain uber rare vinyl releases, but only in situations where you have absolutely zero chance of ever finding the release.
PLEASE feel free to contact me regarding anything in my wantlist. In most situations I do end up purchasing the items offered by discogs users and normally the transactions are prompt and trouble free.
Even if its something that isn't in my wantlist, but is clearly by an artist/label I follow, please contact me as I will probably be interested in that as well =).All Time Favorite German Techno / House:Microbots - Cosmic Evolution (K.O. Mix)

Zeony Lee Experience, The - Love Energy - 02-Mar-08 06:52 PM
This is one of those rare records that was sooo hard, sooo balls-to-the-wall, soooooooooooo sexy, that few DJs outside of "the underground" dared to play. It was just THAT ape-shit crazy.

A few UK producers like Kris Needs and Henry Cullen kept pushing the boundaries further, but most UK producers dropped the whole sexy acid thing after this came out because this one was just TOO much. One of those rare traXXX that can't be copied no matter how hard you try.

At the very least this was the blueprint for the Swedish tribal techno and Eastern European Wet sounds.

And, while both of those "genres" of techno have had major commercial success, had someone latched onto the formula of this 12" and taken it further, techno would be a lot less boring, a lot more acidic, and definitely more sexy now.

Sometimes, I wish "THE UNDERGROUND" wasn't so "UNDERGROUND".

Captain Tinrib / Mars & Mystrë - Save The Rave / Changing The Haight - 28-Apr-04 10:24 AM
Ahh... I love this record... it makes an excellent dartboard. It's sad but true, the release of this record pretty much signaled the death of the west coast rave scene, and when you hear it you'll understand why.

Y Traxx - Mystery Land - 22-Apr-04 08:42 PM
While Mystery Land is without a doubt the most sorry excuse for a bootleg ever made (An edit of Jam & Spoon's Oddysse To Anyoona with a vocal loop thrown on top), this record is still a classic and always will be. For, on the flip side of these cheesy rippoff, one can find what is quite possibly one of the greatest hard techno tracks ever made. With dance music changing so fast these days, its truly amazing that Kiss The Sound still demolishes dancefloors 10 years later.

If you're into hard techno or Schranz, then this is a must have record. At first listen the cheesy vocal loop sounds like it would clear a floor instantly, but when played on a loud system the vocal loop on top of the brutal drums and tripped out noises is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Deacon Blue - Your Town - 18-Jan-04 01:54 AM
What a classic record this is. Anybody that says "Jokenfold sucks" would think just the opposite after hearing this record. Absolutely classic slab of trancey housey techno. This record alone makes up for every mistake Oakenfold has ever made.

A superficial listen might make one think of this as just another in a long string of uninteresting club tracks, but a closer look reveals a very well produced, exceptionally lush soundscape that works just as well at home as it does in the club.

Its tracks like these that made Oakenfold famous, and its really a shame he's wasting his tallent (if he has any left).

Mark Reeder - 06-Jan-04 11:54 PM
Without a doubt, one of the most important figures ever in the history of electronic music, if not THE most important. He's done every job in the business, from working at a record store, touring with New Order, making the first record ever made with a Roland 606, to running a techno label in communist East Germany.

While he unleashed that monster we now call "trance" on the world, he has done so much more and we all owe him a big thanks for actually being one of the few people that has literally changed the world as we know it. EDM (for better or for worse) would literally not be here without him.

And, if you are lucky enough to have Trance Europe Express 2, try the recipie for his "digestives"... I am lucky enough to have toured Berlin while snacking on these curious cookies and must say... while Mark is an amazing musician and electronic music pioneer, he's an even better chef!
