Reviews & Discussion:

This is an absolute cracker - the Trentemoller mix is all spiky synths and clacking percussion that builds up into some intense dancefloor moments without losing the underlying groove of the beats. Coupled with Trentemoller's trademark spacey production standards, it's his best remix for a while now.

On the other side, the equally excellent Martinez mix is a chugging techno number that pleasingly grooves along with slowly building rhythms. The percussion is just perfect and it's one of those grooves that feels so right you'd be quite happy to listen to it endlessly even if it didn't change at all.

All in all a great record and far superior to Bless You Remix 1.
Cari Lekebusch has put a lot of stuff out over the years, some of it genius, some of it rubbish. This one is genius. The title track is an epic atmospheric trancey techno number: beatifully programmed and constantly evolving over it's 9+ minutes and underpinned by some nice 808-style beats. Capsule Mentality is a more typical modern techno tune with bleepy noises and and a rather odd synth interlude. His best release in ages.
Interesting to find out the background to the tune.

This is probably the best and most enduring happy trance tune from this era. The break and subsequent return of the beat in the DJ Kid Paul mix is for me one of the most uplifting moments in the history of dance music. It's also worth checking the Port de Bagnolet mix on the remix EP which is pretty much as good as the original.
Random XS - Braincloud Mar 17, 2008
This is a classic spooky techno record; a genre Random XS seemed to specialise in. There's a nice variety of tunes on here - the epic weirdness of Paralysed Mind; the creepy spaced-out trance of Space Station Alpha; a bit of hard techno with Disconnected plus a few more funky spaced out techno tracks.

Almost all the tracks feature melodic-yet-spooky synth lines which I did not really appreciate at first but in the fullness of time have made this a stand out release I never tire of listening to.

The only disappointment is the Claude Young remix of Give Your Body which doesn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the record.
