Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - Free At Last - 13-Mar-06 01:42 AM
'Free At Last' is by far the most significant album of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speeches ever produced. The intensive resonance of Dr. King's ringing eloquence combined with a theological vibrancy and philosophical depth is woven into the soulful fabric of the three speeches that make up this album.

"I've Been To The Mountain Top" delivered in Memphis, Tennessee, on the evening of April 3, the eve of Dr. King's assassination, is essentialy a sermon to the world in wich he admonishes his black brothers and sisters to... rise up with a greater readiness; stand with a greater determination, and let us move on!

"The Drum Major Instinct" sermon is a beautiful as it is moving, as profound as it is sacred. Before its conclusion, it etches an indelible impression on all people, the people for whom he toiled and for whose just cause he died.

The last and brief speech excerpt on this album is Dr. King's now world famous "I Have A Dream" speech delivered at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963

Admittedly, they have killed the dreamer, but they have NOT killed the dream.
