Aphex Twin - Xylem Tube E.P. - 16-Sep-08 06:10 PM
This record is as a whole a massive ep with 4 absolute killer tracks. Polymonial c has deffinately the absolute power of early intelligent rave and is probably one of the bes emotional breakbeat electronic tracks ever made. Richard D. James clearly set an exemple for people like Mike Paradinas and Bogdan Rascinsky with this lets dance eternity away crying like a baby and happy like a child- vibe. Not only is it a great dancetrack combining classic chords with technoclaps and breabeat shuffles, its also a great listening experience becaus of great ambiance balancing on different synths and effects.

Various - In Digits And Dust, Contemporary Expressions - 07-Jun-08 06:32 AM
This CDr is a unique collection of contemporary sounds in electronic music. As all the UMR compilations it goes from ambientish idm over experimental dubsteprelated genres and drilln bass upto speedy breakcore. Most artists are low profile newcommers and underappreciated Belgian and Dutch artists. The sound is mastered realy loud and clear. The CDr comes in a slimbox with artwork by Arn Gysels. The CDr can easily be listened in one piece from 1 to 16 as there is only a 0.5 second pause in between tracks and they are compiled to be in a natural order of progress.
Anyone with an openminded view on music will love this compilation. Its limited to 100 copies but a low bitrate version can be downloaded on the website. The CDr is also suited for djs becaus of the good masterring it can easily be played on big soundsystems.

DJ Exodus & Head Pressure - Rude Boy Dem / Glass Pipe Fury - 08-May-08 01:18 PM
This is a brilliant old school raggajungle classic, without me knowing it before today, what a shame...
The amens are cut realy nice with a good punchy kick and well sampled ragga vocals. Rude Boy Dem is realy an anthem for the true badboy and it will set every dancefloor on fire. For this date of release the masterring is good too, whoch one wouldnt expect from such a small label, which died in 1997.
An unknown but very smashing tune that has an original ring to it thanks to varying composition and extra crispy amen cuts.

Bogdan Raczynski - Samurai Math Beats - 02-May-08 10:54 PM
This record needs repressing. Badly. No decent new dj can play this tune out anymore, caus its become such a collectors item, being sold second hand for incredibly high prices.
I always loved the sound of jungle by someone who never heard jungle in Bogdans drilln bass tunes, makin drum and bass or just idm sound like nonsens. The rediculous voices and texts make it even more deep and mindblowing, caus u feel its the work of an artist; someone involved in what hes doing, not producing for the music industry. Hence its a shame theres still no payable repress for djs to play out to present day electronic loving audiences of which some barely know Bogdans early work... terrible.

Indeed a very refreshing and nostalgic sound at the same time. A pure endorfine rush that gets you in a ravey mood even in your bedroom. Very enjoyable and easy listening even if it hits a hardcore beat once in a while. Contemporary rave as it should be; a mixture of pure acid sounds with great emo-electronic synths under it and the perfect matching drumbeats. A lot of these tracks appeared first to me as a belgian audiance member at Clash of the Cultures Ghent 2007 where he realy heated the floor.
