Drexciya - Neptune's Lair - 22-Aug-03 03:21 PM
It is hard to write a proper review of this album since it you actually need to hear it to fully understand the dimension of such an outstanding record. Drexciya is much more than just music: it is heart and it is life and it is fight and it is world. Youll be completely surrounded by a mysterious and deep aquatic environment from the start of the intro til the last track. Here you can find pearls like «Andreaen Sand Dunes», «Universal Element», «Polymono Plexusgel», «Devil Ray Cove», «Lost Vessel» or «Bottom Feeders» just to name a few. Some tracks are so amazingly simple while others are skilled masterpieces of sound engineering, contributing to one of the most pleasant experiences ever. Strong beats, soothing sounds, advanced technology... Its all here. Its perfect. Its Drexciyas «Neptunes Lair» : Scientific Research Development Lab.

Pressure Company, The - The Drain Train / Live In Sheffield 19 Jan 82 - 22-Aug-03 02:10 PM
This is a re-release in CD format of two very different LPs: «The Drain Train» is clearly a more mature (and therefore less experimental) release that contains 3 versions of «Shakedown» plus «Menace» and «Electro-Motive», which are all somewhat disco/pop oriented (which doesnt necessarily mean that theyre not good...) But «Live In Sheffield» is a totally different experience as its tracks really show CVs full potential as the most innovative and experimental band that possibly ever existed. My personal pick goes to «War Of Nerves» which is a really dark/powerful/experimental track that totally blows you up! The "Live" aspect also contributes for the overall environment: the background noises and both crowd and performers enthusiastic spirit really adds up to an incredible exciting experience that could only be surpassed if you were really there listening to their performance. Those lucky bastards...
AIR French Band* - Moon Safari - 21-Aug-03 05:28 PM
This album is a classic! Musically speaking, the album is so well designed that will most likely fit your collection no matter what you hear. These songs are perfect for relaxing while enjoying the production skills of the french duo. Songs like «La Femme DArgent», «Kelly, Watch The Stars!» and «You Make It Easy» will certainly be remembered as Airs finest. So sit back, relax... and enjoy!
Ladytron - 604 - 21-Aug-03 04:55 PM
Ladytrons debut full length album is crammed with synth sounds and smooth vocals, but their electronic style is somewhat nothing new, kinda like a slow update. However, it is still a good electro album with some great tracks (for instance «disco traxx», «another breakfast with you» or «Im with the pilots»). You should definitely give it a try and hear for yourself.
Various - Tangent 2002: Disco Nouveau - 21-Aug-03 04:21 PM
First of all, this album is a true piece of art. Its not the illustrations nor all the informative text not even the amazing music; its the whole concept behind the creation of this product, this mixture of Art Nouveau with New Disco really blends perfectly. The booklet is indeed a strong enough reason to buy this record, but the music makes it totally perfect. The artists are top-class and so is their music; all tracks are great, none is less than 5 stars! Anyway, Ill highlight «Adult. - Nite Life», Legowelt «Disco Rout», Perspects «They Keep Dancing (Nuvo Mix)» and Charles Manier «Change You». If you are already familiar with this type of music (New Disco, Synth, Electro) youll find this a must have and if youre only starting now to discover it, than this record will surpass all your expectations!
