John O'Callaghan Feat. Jaren - Surreal - 04-Mar-09 05:46 PM
Is it me, or is JOC just getting better with age? With his single "Big Sky" John proves he can go vocal in Trance, and now with "Surreal" the anticipation of his second LP will be even greater. Personally, the Club Mix is the pick of the two, being a little more driving, and the vocals (when the high notes are hit) arent so sunken into the mix. They stand out a little more, and so they should with huge lungs care of Jaren. The Original is almost equally as good, but lacks impact, especially with the vocals feeling like they are being sung from the next room. Less vocal compression on this version would have easily put it up there with the Club Mix.

Cranberries, The - Shattered (Arctic Quest Bootleg) - 17-Sep-08 06:10 PM
Well I got this 12" a while ago now, but as Lange would say, "Better Late Than Never".

I think this bootleg remix is so good it should have been given rights for a full scale release enslaught. Its an awesome attempt to amalgamate House & Trance elements along with original samples all in the one track.

The production is as tight as you can get with a bootleg, and is one of those tracks you can listen to over & over again without thinking "Wheres my bloody shotgun!" It is always a pleasure listening to Dolores ORiordan sing anyway.

As Steve Irwin would say, "Have a go at this!"

Arc In The Sky - Vainqueur - 21-Aug-08 02:59 AM
This is one of the greatest tunes ever. This is underground trance at its best, with some heavy phase sweeping effects, this is lights go crazy time. The breakdown is very special, its hard to know where the beat is until the last moment, and then get into the zone that you have no intention of leaving behind. Without a doubt this will open your eyes, if you havent heard real trance, then nows the time.
Have I said enough? - BUY IT!

Kate Ryan - Free - 18-Jul-08 05:39 PM
This album is one of the more consistent albums out of her 4. Even though it is splattered with cover songs, they all sound like they were written by the same people. Production wise this is a tight one, blending modern Euro-Dance with a hint of 80s retro. Key songs other than the singles include: I Surrender, Who Do You Love, and Your Eyes.

Overall this is an ejoyable album from start to finish. Much better than her previous album "Alive" which in my opinion didnt cut the bread, that album was boring. This album "Free" however meets all the dietary requirements my ears need to survive!

Savage Garden - Affirmation - 18-Jul-08 03:49 AM
This is by far the better out of the 2 albums they produced. The first album was too old in style and carried on the 80s sound too much, it was a great album, but "Affirmation" proved that these guys can make music based on a song writers point of view. Instead of just going for radio pop, Darren wrote from his experiences from the breakdown of his marriage, and living halfway across the globe, to losing loved ones.

Musically it is mature compared to the first album, and Darrens life experiences is reason. Amazingly this album was produced while Darren lived in America and Daniel stayed back in Australia. Some would say that type of plan would end up disasteress, but in fact it made the album better.

Try it, but it!
