This 20 minute EP might be described as Trish Keenan vs Nurse With Wound. The vocals, where they appear, are laid over an assemblage of found sounds and samples - when a traditional instrument appears, it is pretty much at odds with Trishs tune, as often as not. The editing is dense and inventive, but the result is very much a collage, and quality of vocal recordings vary (in places distorted or muffled). For sure, there are no orderly/clear pop performances here like Corporeal, Tears In The Typing Pool, or (to go way back) Distant Call.

This does develop at a much different pace than Substrata, etc, but its still quality work. Its got a lot more drone, and shares common ground with Coils Time Machines disc. You might miss out some with the headphones on though - some tracks are in large part bass vibrations that benefit from proper woofers.
