Well, I feel like I have to give a proper review of the Pop Ambient releases.
I've been listening to these collections for a long time now and there's just two words that can describe them: Simply brilliant! Nowhere else can you find a broad rage of ambient tracks and nowhere else can you find such an abundance of tracks with my favourite kind of music. Really spacious, deep and hypnotic ambient tracks, very similar to the Wolfgang Voigt's GAS releases. These songs, especially Markus Guentner's tracks are really awesome, especially the track Express Yourself from the 2003 release. When you listen to that one you will definitely understand what I mean. The other artists is also really good and they kind of stand out in their own way. One example is Novisad with the track Sommersonnenschein from the 2002 release. It's really good with a twist of calm weidness. One other good thing is that the collections are very consistent. None of the songs turn into some hard or experimental stuff so you can easily sit back, relax and listen to the albums in one sitting. So... If you're into ambient music that leans more to the deep, hypnotic and spacious kind then the Pop Ambient series is definitely something for you. | ||||
