Glide (2) - Space Age Freak Out (Live At The Bubblebath Liverpool) - 23-Dec-04 12:35 AM
This is an amazing record that should have been released back in 1993 when it was made instead of years later. It would made major waves in the ambient/chill out community. The samples of Jack Nicholson, Dennis Hopper, and Peter Fonda from Easy Rider are super cool! Also, its a strictly limited CD so grab it if you ever see it anywhere. I still cant believe that this is the guitarist for Echo & the Bunnymen. Light years away from the "Cutter". Side note, I just picked up the brand new Glide CD on Cooking Vinyl and it does not sound anything like this! Gone are the electronics and samples and mainly its just instrumental strange guitar music.
Sniper Mode - Mikromix.One - The Electro Mix Session - 18-Sep-04 05:21 AM
A really nice pure electro mix that has turned me onto some more great artists in the Mikrolux / Elektrolux catalog like Mas 2008, Insektoid, and Dr. Sniper Mode. The influences of Detroit electro city run deep in this mix.
Stefan Tischler - Excess Of Free Speech - 18-Sep-04 03:41 AM
This CD is very educational. Not much happening on this CD musically but the sound bites spread through out are alarming. Americans are Sleepwalking is the stand out track that describes the events and facts of the Cuban missile crisis. The only track that I skip is Incurions with its annoying repeated samples from some porno flick. Thank you Extreme Records for exposing artists that would I would probably have never discovered on my own. Im currently purchasing anything I see on this label because its all unique in its own way.
Various - In Electro We Trust - A Datapunk Compilation - 29-Aug-04 11:05 AM
A nice collection of pure serious electro tracks. Nothing groundbreaking here but I will be investigating some of the featured artists on this collection further. This CD is a limited edition and was quite difficult for me to get a hold of. One drawback on this comp is that some of the tracks sound like they were faded abruptly. Dont mind considering that we have a nice number of tracks to listen to!
C-Schulz & Hajsch - C-Schulz & Hajsch - 15-Apr-04 09:29 AM
A highly experimental release. Complete with the sound of strange voices, a campfire burning, concrete sounds, windowshades, etc. This release sounds like it was recorded with a 3-D holophonic effect (it reminds me a lot of the experimental interludes that you hear the Dreams Less Sweet LP by Psychic TV). This LP is not as captivating as Schulzs Film Ton release on Extreme. Both releases are great for late night listening or back ground material for reading and being online!
