Nicole - A Small En-Trance To A Large Spectrum - 17-Dec-08 02:41 AM
"A Small En-Trance To A Large Spectrum" is one of these headfucking acid tracks, that can really bring your body and mind to the edge of insanity. The TB-303 starts to fade in, pierces, tightens all your senses on the extreme and drills your brain constantly and relentlessly. Whipping, psychodelic-nervous sounds around are forcing the track more and more to the point. The oppresive drumming, accented by the absolutely thought-out application and variation of cymbals, claps and some hardly discernibly movements and delays in the rhythmics during calmer key places of this track makes this one to dynamite in 12" format, even and just during these days. Grab one if you can. Hands down!
Paragliders - The Oasis E.P. - 02-Jul-08 02:00 PM
A2 Especially the original version contains everything an outstanding trance record like this should have. It has to be harmonic and a bit melancholic. It should spread happiness without beeing cheesy at any moment, but it has to move straight forward also. In my opinion this was the brightest moment of Oliver Lieb/Torsten Stenzel and their Paragliders project. Oasis was played very often as the last record at the revered Dorian Gray Club/Frankfurt Airport and it will always remind me of a feeling of true bliss .... in times as Trance was good.
Dimensional Holofonic Sound* - House Of God - 30-Oct-06 10:28 AM
In 1991, the german DJ icon Sven Väth used "The house of god" for an own, short jingle in the legendary HR 3 Clubnight radio series. He imitated the preachers voice of the track with his striking voice by using the german words "...die Hausaufgaben". This sounds quite similar to the english pronunciation of "The house of god" and it simply means "...to do your homework"! In spite of the fact, that this tune is at any rate a milestone in the history of techno, I paradoxially have to think of this sappy joke first, when I listen to it.:)
Slam - Snapshots - 26-Oct-06 05:16 PM
Side A. Slams hypnotic and repetitive order to "Stepback" is one of the most energy charged tracks you can spin. A techno bomb with threatening, roaring sounds and such a massive impelling ride that you better take cover....This is definitely one of my favourite tunes ever. By the way,the 2002 Smith & Selway remix could not reach a quarter of this level.
Reinhard Voigt - Recht Erst Jetzt - 24-Oct-06 10:17 AM
In my opinion these crashes and hihats, together with the big synths sounds in track B, give this one its real sloping and outstanding character. You better pitch it down (-5) before listening. This is weird music not only for the K-moments in life. Top bloke, Mr.Voigt !!
