Various - Earth - 06-Jun-09 09:10 AM
This Limited Edition release appears to be the same as the one on LTJ Bukem's 'Earth' label (EARTHCD007X) but if you are a collector you will need this version as well.
Why? Because it comes in a proper thick card case just like the previous 6 volumes in the series.
Sadly for some unknown reason the one on Earth Records came in a cheap plastic jewel case and does not match the others :o(
It also contains a 3 track promo cd which wasnt available anywhere else.

LTJ Bukem - FabricLive 46 - 29-May-09 08:32 PM
At last, another officially released mix cd from LTJ Bukem, its been a while!
Although entitled FabricLive this is actaully a studio mix without the vocal talents of MC Conrad.
As usual the quality of mixing, tune selection and play order are great, Bukem really knows how to mix good tunes together.
All of the featured tracks are signed to his 'Good Looking Records' label so this is a good way of getting a taster of future 12"s, that is if Bukem decides to release them all!!

Rantoul - Freedom / The Peasant - 19-Mar-08 05:58 PM
These two tunes are among my favourite on Ascendant Grooves and i was lucky enough to pick up a copy through a friend who got it directly off PHD, the label owner.
PHD said 10 test press copies were made, he kept 2 and the others went to Good Looking Records DJ's to be played out live.

Once again we have another fantastic release which never saw the light of day, although the new Good Looking website is supposed to be selling MP3's of their back catalogue soon....

Doc Scott - Tokyo Dawn - 19-Mar-08 05:45 PM
Hmmm, it seems like LTJ Bukem wasnt quite sure which one of his labels to release this tune on!

Firstly some one sided test presses were done with the catalogue number LGR6 suggesting it was going to be the 6th release on Looking Good Records. That idea was scrapped and he decided to make it the first release on Tayla's new 'Nexus' label instead. This time some one sided promo's were pressed with the catalogue number NEXUS001 (which is this release), but then Bukem changed his mind again and put it out on his first Earth LP.

As for the tune itself, personally its one of my favourite GLR tracks and it just goes to show what a talented and diverse producer Doc Scott was.

Tayla - Soul Survivors - 19-Mar-08 05:35 PM
This rare mispressed version of 'Soul Survivors' is well worth hunting down for the two different tracks on sides C and D. These tunes were never given another release and only very early versions of the LP had them on so finding a copy can be very hard!
The other 4 tracks that feature here are by the Future Engineers and are also top notch atmospheric drum n bass from the time.
I advise you get copies of both versions of this LP as all the tunes really are quality!
