Linear Movement - Pulse Music - 21-Feb-08 10:41 AM
This is a fantastic album. Great production and programming. Rather than being gloomy, raw or screechy like some of the Flexi-Pop sound, this album is full of sparkling synths and layers of detail. Furthermore, these guys can actually play their instruments and sing, alternating between male and female vocals, even managing to work in some falsetto and acoustic guitar. Two of the instrumental tracks, "The Linear Way" and "Cytogenic Movement", sound like they could have been made yesterday. The strength of each song makes it feel like more than the ten songs comprising the album. You can probably still get it on MP3 from the Micrart website -- too bad its not on vinyl. A real gem.

Tod Foster - Dancin' - 21-Jul-06 02:41 PM
The A-side is the original version ( I believe) of the Joy Michael song "Dancin" from 1983, though it is much spacier and with a kind of Bee-Gees falsetto chorus. Much more subtle the the later version, and an all-around better song and pressing, in my opinion. The B-side of this record is less well known for good reason.

Various - I-Robots : Italo Electro Disco Underground Classics - 20-May-04 06:28 PM
Its a good compilation, but too many instrumentals, as if IRMA is trying not to alientate listeners who might think the words are cheesy, weird or dated sounding. This leaves the compilation sounding a little empty, but good nonetheless.

Alden Tyrell - Knockers - 29-Dec-03 11:40 AM
The record is worth it for the pure craftsmanship on the A-side -- straight up, over-the-top synthy disco, much lighter and less anxious than his previous releases on Viewlexx. The B-side remixes of "Phaze Me" are less interesting, not much of an improvement on the original and unfortunately missing the vocoder vox. Still, a great release; Alden Tyrell has yet to let us down.

Pauli Jylhankangas - Clutz - 29-Dec-03 11:31 AM
A great, fun release -- reminds me a bit of good, early Rephlex material. Cheerful, quirky, melodic and synthy, with hints of disco and electro with a warm, analogue finish. Pauli, along with Sami Liuski of Bangkok Impact, comprise Putsch 79. I cant wait to hear more from this guy.
