Richie Rich - My DJ (Pump It Up Some) (Club Mix) - 09-Oct-07 11:34 AM
At the time this was an extraordinary record - at least down under - a DJ cut up record turntablist style set to a killer breakbeat that a DJ could play in a club and hey, people would still be dancing. Richie Rich IMHO is an under-rated figure & DJ in hip hop. He, along with Chad Jackson, Stereo Mcs/Ultimatum & Norman Cook who took the US hip hop of the time into their secret labratories & added a timeless touch. We can forgive him for the Go-Go scene record!

Various - Dubmission 2: The Remixes - 02-Oct-06 02:49 AM
Far surpasses the original release. Apart from K, Thievery... its the The Rockers Hi Fi mix of Sly & Robbie that stands out for me. Minimal but emotive it stands as one of my favourite Rocker moments.

Boogie Down Productions - Criminal Minded - 24-Aug-06 10:38 PM
Back cover album notes has this gem "This product contains unlawful reproduction detection devices". Curious to know what this was - other than the pic of KRS-One pointing a gun?

Shade Without Colour - The Dialectics Of Logic - 26-Jun-06 12:20 PM
Samples Dennis Hopper (as the unnamed Photojournalist in Apocalypse Now) giving a Hopperesque rant about dialectic physics and his issues with fractions. "Dialectic logic is there’s only love and hate, you either love somebody or you hate them."

De La Soul - Buddy / The Magic Number - 26-Jun-06 01:22 AM
One of a number of Chad Jackson hip hop remixes in the 80s which still stand strong today. His mix of De Las Eye Know, TLA Rocks This Beat Kicks and Public Enemys Rebel Without a Pause for DMC remain highly underrated IMHO.
