Puzzleweasel - 01-Aug-03 03:46 PM
Puzzleweasel is 22-year-old Peter Dahlgren. His ambition was to create what was then lacking in the scandinavian scene: a full-frontal attack on the dancefloor. Mixing crispy sounds with harsh schizophrenic beats, this tight, extended player is an excellent showcase of puzzleweasel’s skillz. Soundwise, these cutups fall somewhere between Richard Devine and Venetian Snares, with a playful sci-fi edge and an unabashed love of throbbing jungle basslines and snarerushes à la Squarepusher and Aphex Twin. Ace tigerbeat gabbacore mentalism!

A truly deep release. The ambient flowing soundscapes, the really deep basses and the anonymous beats are just SO perfect for meditation and chillin´. I also find the tracks reeeally sad and dark, but that´s just fine by me.

Great work Anders :D

5/5!

Nice compilation with a good mixture of both techno and electro. The remix here of Laurent´s "Greed" by Dave Clarke is amazing. Besides, I got this cd for 1$ which isn´t all too bad of a price :)

Various - Super PLAY Bitpop Volym Ett - 19-Dec-02 06:57 AM
This is a truly terrible release and a 100% partycrasher. If the tracks hadn´t been remixed into cheezy eurotechno, and the speaker wouldn´t have been so anxious to comment all the tracks allt the time, maybe this one could have made it to my cd-player more than once. This is so sad.

Alec Empire - Intelligence And Sacrifice - 19-Dec-02 06:52 AM
A truly wonderful record, especially CD1. Track 9, "Intelligence & Sacrifice" is one of the most brutal and powerful tracks ever made by Empire in my opinion. Also, Noizy Nic Endo is doing great job with her machines as always, through the entire first cd. CD2 shows more of Alec´s calmer side. It´s dark, purely intstrumental and melancholic, and is a perfect contrast to the distorted guitars and earshattering screams from cd1. Great job on this one Alec!
