In this release the prolific Mystified explores the ritual side of ambient music, and does it with his very personnal sound, far away from the usual clichés of the style. It starts with majestic layered drones, that become darker after a few minutes, somehow muffled, as if we were taken underground. The middle of track is marked by a lighter sequence, including a soft electronic beat and discreet bassline that reminds that Mystified is also an experimented IDM composer. That makes an interesting contrast but doesnt break the overall ritual atmosphere of the track. Then it ends with a mysterious haunting drone and makes you want to play the cd again.
If you dont know where to start with Mr. Parks impressive and diversified discography, this release shouldnt be missed since it gives a good view of (some of) his many sound-building abilities, gathered in a very coherent and powerful piece.
